Manny was in no position at the time to dictate anything to DLH. Oscar overestimated himself when he tried to make the weight, not Manny's fault.

Whats ironic is, Oscar was really looking to make a rematch with Floyd, and then started picking a fight with "the flavor of the month" who was a few weight classes below. Then got beaten down.
If it was Floyd, who knows how big a star he would have been?

Oscar was "severely drained" and fought at a weight that he hadn't been at in years. The thought of Manny being "severely drained" against Marquez is pathetic, really. And I'm not understanding what you're saying with the rest of your post.

And the answer to the thread question- Was Manny severely drained? No, he was cutting weight sure, more than likely affected his strength among other things.

I'm not here to argue the power that Manny did or didn't have to dictate to Oscar, I know what's what. I brought in Oscar as an example of a truly "SEVERELY drained" fighter. That was the only reason I brought him up.

ur saying delahoya was drained coz pacman beat delahoya badly. Pacman also shut out, tko, destroyed Cotto, mosley, clotey, margarito. I guess they were all severely drained too right?

Even nacho beristain said delahoya was fine. Pacquuio was just too fast for him.

              SORRY :

De la Hoya claims Pacquiao beats weight-drained foes :

MANILA, Philippines – Former boxing great Oscar de la Hoya claimed the reason why Filipino superstar Manny Pacquiao has been successful in his last fights is that he keeps on beating his opponents through the weighing scale.

De la Hoya, who was forced by Pacquiao to quit after an 8-round beating in 2008, made the claim while pushing again for a third fight between the Filipino boxer and Mexican champion Juan Manuel Marquez.

"For me, Juan Manuel won the first two fights and he's the only one who succeeded in creating problems for Pacquiao, a fighter who has always forced his opponents, including myself, to lose weight and leave everything on the scale," De la Hoya said in Boxing Scene.com.

De la Hoya, who owns majority of Golden Boy Promotions (GBP), claims Pacquiao has always forced his opponents to drop down to uncomfortable weights to make the fights.

In their 2008 fight, De la Hoya worked hard to make the 147-pound limit just to face Pacquiao. This, he claims, was the reason he lost the bout.

Delahoya wasn't drained. He was too slow. If delahoya was drained manny would have easily ko or kd Oscar. Oscar didn't even get kd.

                      3. Margarito's advantage. The catchweight inclusion was for a belt.
                      4. Only a year older after fighting Mayweather. **** fight but still watched it.
