I remember this boxing game that I had as a kid, 2 little wind up boxers that walk forward throwing one hand after the other rythme with his feet. It was neat for awhile but it was basic, very basic. Ledbedev is similar in style to my little wind up boxers, he is so extremely basic. Toney will shoulder roll Lebedev up and down the street with counter right hands and mean hooks to Lebedevs ribs. It won't last long if Lebedev tries to force him back.
I know enough Boxing to know that Toney is finished. Lebedeb while not too gifted, is more then enough to beat a washed up, 43 year old who is coming down in weight.
It's no longer about Toney just having to lose weight to fight better. That used to be the storyline. We're past that, he is shot to **** and Lebedev will do similar things that Fres Oquendo did Vs Toney, perhaps even better.
And if that isn't good enough, he's got the hometown advantage to bring it home, just in case it's close.
What do you say Rockin'?

A win over him means little or nothing at all. Greer looks like he has never trained a day in his life -- like he walks out of the corner pub and into the arena to fight.
I saw the Toney - Rahman rematch. Toney looked decent, Rahman looked awful, Rahman got a little cut and quit. The cut was fine 5 minutes after the fight was called. But it was hardly a great outing for Toney.
I could probably shut out Damon Reed. Deontay Wilder KO'd him in two rounds.
You are guilty of hyperbole when it comes to Toney's recent outings, and of bias against Lebedev. Lebedev looked fine against Marco Huck, destroyed Enzo, and closed the show against RJJ. And youth and fighting at home are BIG plusses.
Greer isn't great but styles make fights & Greer is awkward! Some crap fighters are just awkward even for the best of fighters, they come to spoil etc. Yes Deontay knocked him out but he is like a 6ft7 beanpole with nothing but a straight right - Avoid that & you have a very good chance IMO!
You are forgetting this was a 257+ lb unmotivated Toney, a 200lb in shape, highly motivated Toney releasing footage of him training hard, looking focused & sharp etc is a whole different ballgame! I personally fail to see how Lebedev wins. He can not outbox Toney, outwork him or anything, I can't particularly say yes without me being bias he has a punchers chance...I don't see it happening!
The only way I see Lebedev winning is by hometown robbery & nothing will change my mind.Last edited by dan_cov; 10-25-2011, 06:25 PM.

You are trying to use a triangle theory. Toney-Wilder-Lebedev-Greer have nothing in common.
I don't see how any guy with a punch output, poor accuracy, slow feet etc can even well really hit Toney nevermind destroy him, outbox or whatever.
Toney is a veteran and don't just use a shoulder roll, yes his speech is slurred & sure he is shot but IMO he has more than enough left to put Lebedev away. In fact when was Toney in this sort of shape & that motivated?
He can turn that clock back. I personally see no reason as to why he can't win this or K.O Lebedev
Don't count Toney out, he is 1 veteran you can not count out.
In similar circumstances I said Tarver will beat Green, likely stop him and everyone I said this too laughed.
He's picked the wrong guy this time IMO! I don't care if Toney is 60, if he's motivated & in shape, he's a hell of a threat!

This is Chris Byrd-moving-down-to-Light-Heavyweight-esque. Delahoya-moving-back-down-to-147-esque. WITH A CHERRY ON TOP.
Toney isn't/wasn't in half decent shape as those guys. The weight alone will not be an issue. It's a combination of everything. His age, his shape or lack off, over the years, and just showing signs of washed-up-ed-ness, since the Oquendo fight. Has he been very active since then? The old saying, inactivity doesn't help an aging fighter.
That, and combine it with the fact that Lebedev isn't a pure bum or journeyman, and you're looking at a clear cut Decision win, with Lebedev outworking him, busting him up, but Toney still having that defense and avoiding the worst shots that Roy couldn't. If Toney proves me wrong and performs half decently, making it competitive, Lebedev's got the Hometown edge and will get the nod, like Toney did vs Oquendo.

There is also a saying ''Elephants never forget'' & from experience this ''ringrust'' experience is so so overplayed, as long as you've been training/sparring you'll be fine.
Who has Lebedev outworked? How do you expect him to outwork one of the best counter punchers in the business? He'd be damn foolish to not worry about shots coming back.
He just don't have the workrate, style or accuracy.
People keep mentioning these H/W's which is absurd, this is at cruiser!
Put some points up, i'll give you even odds!
Bit bored now of Toney is washed up blah blah like Lebedev is anything special, put some points up!

If anyone keeps expecting Toney to turn back the clock over and over again, you're mistaken. His time is up for clearly defined reasons that I've already listed.
YES, YOU HAVE A BET, HOW MUCH?
