I know enough Boxing to know that Toney is finished. Lebedeb while not too gifted, is more then enough to beat a washed up, 43 year old who is coming down in weight.

It's no longer about Toney just having to lose weight to fight better. That used to be the storyline. We're past that, he is shot to **** and Lebedev will do similar things that Fres Oquendo did Vs Toney, perhaps even better.

And if that isn't good enough, he's got the hometown advantage to bring it home, just in case it's close.

    What do you say Rockin'?
    Very accurate post.

IMAO this guy saying someone else has poor debating skills

why don't you break down the reason why Jones Jr who has been stopped in less than a round by Green somehow gave all he could handle to Lebedev ???

James may be older and less mobile but Lebedev is so extremely basic that James should be able to just **** with him. Every time James is to land he will need to land the blows with authority. The pitty-pat bull**** isn't going to cut it so it's good that I believe James to be strong enough and smart enough to have the bout finished in 6 or 7...........Rockin'

that's the thing : Toney doesn't have to be at his best to beat Lebedev

I don't see how any guy with a punch output, poor accuracy, slow feet etc can even well really hit Toney nevermind destroy him, outbox or whatever.

Toney is a veteran and don't just use a shoulder roll, yes his speech is slurred & sure he is shot but IMO he has more than enough left to put Lebedev away. In fact when was Toney in this sort of shape & that motivated?

He can turn that clock back. I personally see no reason as to why he can't win this or K.O Lebedev

Don't count Toney out, he is 1 veteran you can not count out.

In similar circumstances I said Tarver will beat Green, likely stop him and everyone I said this too laughed.
He's picked the wrong guy this time IMO! I don't care if Toney is 60, if he's motivated & in shape, he's a hell of a threat!
All I need to see is Bad News Buddy and I know what is going to happen.

He's like the Angel of Death.

Tarver didn't abuse his body for years like Toney did. The time comes when you have to pay for your lifestyle choices. It's ridiculous to think Toney is dropping 57 pounds IF he makes weight for this fight.

There is no reason to anticipate anything other than a Lebedev win, maybe a brutal win at that. This could be the fight that means Toney will spend the rest of his life as a vegetable. From the sounds of his speech, his drooling and slurring, he is only a few hard shots away from disaster. Any good doctor would agree with me.

I hope he doesn't make weight and the fight is called off, for his sake.

I don't know if this is a warm up video (like Rockin stated) or Toney's just going easy, but he looks like **** here. He's lackadaisical and it just looks like he's going through the motions. I see zero intensity in that workout to be honest...

I like James Toney but this is an easy fight to predict. Lededev may not be as skilled as Toney but he's younger, hungrier, fitter, and is gonna out work the crafty veteran en route to an easy 12 round UD...

From what I've heard, Toney is in hock to the IRS, which accounts for his UFC embarrassment and this desperate attempt in Russia. You know Toney is desperate when he is trying to take off all of this weight in such a hurry. Not to mention travelling out of the country to fight for only the second time in his long career -- and Toney hates to fly.

Some of his diehards just don't want to see the truth. I understand that, but it doesn't change the facts.

Yeah, you got to look at the video objectively without the fan glasses on. I'm a fan of James but it doesn't take a expert to see that he's just bluffing it in that vid...

You want to see some serious padwork? Here's a vid:

toney is more shot than roy jones jr. the only difference is toney has a defensive foundation so he doesn't get knocked out like roy jones. he's even more stationary than jones jr so ledbedev is gonna have a field day beating him up. blimp impersonator sam peter easily beat him with basic boxing. toney couldn't move or counter because his skills and movement were completely gone. it wasn't just a bad fight because he looked like complete crap against oquendo as well. he even got rocked by some tomato can he fought last fight. this is a shame for toney but ledbedev now has a resume on par with the great joe calzaghe.
