GBP has no one to blame but themselves regarding Hopkins. He isn't a star and a Hopkins' PPV is a MAJOR risk on buying. You just don't know what type of performance you're going to get.

I'm glad not many people wasted their money on that main event. Although Linares-DeMarco delivered.

As far as I'm concerned that's what I payed for... that was the main event.

I asked Richard Schaefer today about Hopkins-Dawson PPV numbers. His answer was simply: "Not good." It likely did less than 100,000.

Rough year for GBP/HBO PPV. No wonder Oscar was talking comeback...
I wouldn't be calling it a rough year considering Mayweather/Ortiz did over 1M buys.

Did it? Just waiting on Floyd to pay his back taxes until we get the real #, right?

I'm actually not surprised at all. The fact they sold like 3k tickets surprised me

Did Floyd say that? Or is that just something somebody else heard from somebody else.. and you heard it through some news article?

                  Just curious.

Instead of being genuinely interested in the undercard fighters and fights, they were part of the crowd that strolled in right before the main event.

From the quotes I've read from him and the fights and fighters he's showcased at Showitme, Hershman is actually a passionate about the sport. He had half of the budget HBO had, but his matchups were better.

Hershman on HBO is intriguing. Unlike Greenburg, he should be aware of the leverage HBO has over its competitors. I expect to see the best fights from 118 up to 175 with the occasional heavyweight fight, if the matchup is good enough.
I'm hoping he can put together more tournaments
