Floyd-Ortiz PPV numbers being witheld until Mayweather settles IRS problems

I guess this news isn't making Floyd feel any better either. How do you figure? They released the #?
If anyone believes this tripe, then you are a complete idiot, no getting around that.
The Mayweathers aren't even trying anymore, they're recycling excuses now:
Instead, Mayweather Sr. suggested it was his son’s fear of Uncle Sam that’s preventing the biggest fight in boxing from taking place this year. “Make a million dollars in one year and see what Uncle Sam gonna do to you. So that’s what I’m talking about. Make $100 million in one year and see what Uncle Sam gonna do,” he would tell FightHype’s own Percy Crawford. “It would be like he ain’t never fought Shane. I’m telling you the real deal of how it is. That is the only reason they didn’t make the fight.”

Last year, taxes were the reason Floyd couldn't fight Manny. This year it's the reason he can't release the PPV buy rate for the Ortiz fight.
I would say how gullible do you think people are, but judging by this board... their strategy is working

That fight didnt have Mayweather Promotion involved with it. Which wasnt even a promotional company at the time. Floyd didnt have the power of being a promoter to withheld such information like he did in this fight.Comment

He also got paid a lot less in that fight than he did against Mosley, for instance.Comment

he can try of course but it's not up to him...it's up to IRS. if only floyd is not ****** to flaunt his money in public maybe the IRS will believe him. IRS might compromise just so they can collect but they knew how much floyd made in the previous years and he's very capable to pay.Comment

LOL. Is this guy serious or is he just being a troll? I honestly can't tellThis is just a op-ed from fat dan who we know gets paid to ride GBP's sausage.
At least Steve Kim's posts about the PPV number came from his "sources", Fat dan just pulled this out of his ass and it doesn't even make sense.
How would reveling the numbers now affect what he owes the IRS from years ago? Simply put, it doesn't.
The only reason HBO wouldn't want to release the numbers is because they are very likely lower than Showtime's Pac-Mosley and that would make them look weak in the eyes of their shareholders and top boxing promoters who are deciding which network to go to.
HBO and GBP could care less about floyds IRS problems.Comment

Yes, because the IRS bases these things off whether or not you had a stack of hundreds in your hands at the club.he can try of course but it's not up to him...it's up to IRS. if only floyd is not ****** to flaunt his money in public maybe the IRS will believe him. IRS might compromise just so they can collect but they knew how much floyd made in the previous years and he's very capable to pay.Comment

well if you act like you have lots of money and you flaunt it then that's what people believe. besides he really made tons of money before...he has to make some ridiculous explanations why he can't pay the amount in full.Comment
