Man, I am not saying there should be a rehydrating clause, I was only bringing it up because Dibella did in an interview. If I had my dream, the fight would be at 154, while Sergio would most likely re hydrate somewhere between 160-165. While Floyd would be at 150 or so on fight night. I am just counting on Martinez being physcially able to win the fight as well as Floyd.Look at what you're saying. Whether you realize it or not, you're' basically depending on Sergio not being at his Physical best. Apparently him being at 160, or 154 but rehydrating too high, is a too much of a problem for Floyd?
I thought skills paid the bills, and Floyd didn't need guys being put at a disadvantage physically, in order to beat them.
It's not as if Sergio is a beast like Miranda physically. His game is movement and angles, just like Floyd's. The only thing that a fight at 154 or less does, is Martinez may end up being dehydrated just like Delahoya was when he fought Oscar, and end up having nothing on fight night.
I actually would give Martinez a good shot at beating him. Floyd is still really good, but past his best. Floyd hasn't really been "prime" since the Hatton fight in 2007. 2 years later, in 2009 and 2010, he took a step back. He looked great against Marquez and Mosley, but not quite the same as he was in 2006-2007. Again, his last fight against Ortiz, he looked really good, but not quite the same as he did against Marquez and Mosley.
I would still give Martinez loads of credit for beating Floyd, even now. 154 is the most fair and even way to have the fight go down.Comment

I just can't see why 154 isn't fair and equal. Martinez usually weighs in at 158-159, and comes into the fight anywhere from 160-165. Floyd usually weighs in at 146-147, and comes into the fight anywhere from 147-150.
If the fight was made at 154, Sergio would drop 4-5 lbs to 154, and come into the fight most likely above 160 still. Meanwhile, Floyd would most mikely weigh in at 150 and come into the fight at 150, same as he did against Oscar in 07'.
If it's below 154 (150-153), Floyd definitely has the weight advantage. If it's at 154, it's right in the middle and equal. If it's above 154 (156-160), Martinez definitely has the weight advantage.
I actually give Martinez a great shot at beating Floyd. He's just as quick, feet and hands, has great reflexes, power, comes from angles, he's a southpaw. I would still bet on Floyd to win, but not by much. I'd say 55-45 is where i am at with this fight.
I love the fact this fight is looking to be made, especially since Pac already has Bradley lined up for May 2012. The only thing that sucks now is that if Mayweather-Martinez is made for Spring 2012, than Khan is definitely next after that, if Floyd wins. If Floyd were to lose to Sergio, a rematch would DEFINITELY happen no matter what. So, if Floyd wins, the soonest it looks like Mayweather-Pacquiao will happen is Spring 2013. By then, Floyd will be 36 and Pac will be 34, and they may very well have slipped big time with their skills by then, who knows.
That's my only beef with this fight being made. If Floyd fights Sergio, no one can seriously say Mayweather is afraid of Pacquiao. Mayweather fighting Sergio is as risky as a fight with Pacquiao, believe that. None of the Mayweather haters saying "Floyd ducked this guy or that guy, and won't fight Pac because he's scared. Floyd avoids the best", they will all have to shut up, or be forced to look moronic.
Again....this is all IF the fight is made.Comment
