After watching a couple a rounds of each fighter, i think we have a clear winner.

First off we have to take in account the opponents they were facing.

Witherspoon was facing Larry Holmes and Helenius was facing Samuel Peter.

The skills level between these two is incredible. Larry Holmes is one of the best heavyweights in the history of the sport imo while Peter is one of todays decent heavyweights but nothing special overall.

Witherspoon was competitive with Holmes in the two rounds i watched and he showed a good ability to cut off the ring, he has an interesting defence that he utilized very well and he was also able to show good body work.

Helenuis himself showed well rounded skills but he is slow on his feet compared to Witherspoon and his handspeed and defence are not quite as good either.

Witherspoon has the better skills. No doubt in my mind.

Well, to start with the obvious, Witherspoon is always moving. His hands, his shoulders, his head, he's never just sitting still and presenting an easy target. He has the left hand dropped to try and sucker Holmes in, but the right hand is always in position to block or parry. He snaps the jab as he tries to move in, and gets low to provide not target when he gets close. He actually outjabs Larry Holmes in this video.

Helenius doesn't do any of that. He doesn't move any part of his upper body unless he's throwing a punch, and doesn't have particularly airtight defense.

Whiterspoon was much shorter and weighted much less. So of course he is faster, beter footwork, and more fluent.

doesnt mean he could beat Helenius.

David Haye IMO is more skilled than Wladimir yet we saw what happened.

David Haye is no where near as skilled as Wlad.

So you're saying that Witherspoon is more skilled and yet you voted for Helenius and have tried to turn this into some fantasy h2h fight instead of an objective comparison of SKILLS. Hmmmm, me thinks you have an agenda. We don't know who would win because we cant see them in the ring together. We can judge their skills though.
