Except that Wlad waited FIVE month after he lost to Sanders, and another FOUR months after that.
Toney hasn't lost to anyone, and he's fighting for the 2nd time in TWO months, planning to fight TWO months after that, to stay active and in shape.
It's stunning that some of you are so dense.
The guy's fighting at a torrid pace for a Heavyweight, and is fighting a guy like Caloway to stay sharp and in shape as a tune up for a high profile fight in January.Comment

MMMM I don't know I think he may end up in the ring with one of them someday and Wlad is not that great to me....He looked to be back in form against Peter but would have been KOed brutally if Manny Steward was not in his corner.I still have little confidence in him dominating the division he is to weak chinned IMO.Originally posted by TuPrincipeAs do I. Funny thing is, everyone thinks if Wlad would fall into Toney's trap and fight on the inside with him. When on the ropes, Toney is at his best usually when he's conserving energy. Wlad would NEVER do that, and that's why this fight is so easy to call.
Toney will NEVER fight Wlad. He talks big but he won't fight the big boys.Comment

Brewster doesn't have the mental capacity to fight Toney. Look at how his friendship with Meehan resulted in a poor preformance.
He's alreadly said flat out that he never wants to fight James Toney, because Toney is his hero, and that Toney owned him in sparring on several occasions.Comment

Against who?
Toney doesn't even have a major belt yet. And when he did win his belt, he fought an aging Ruiz who changed his style to a more fan-friendly one. On top of that he took steroids.
I'll give his due when he fights the Klitchko's. Brewster has openly stated that he won't fight Toney so I'm disregarding him although I think he could punish Toney.Comment

Originally posted by DiegoFuegoKirk Johnson is arguably one of the 3 most skilled heavyweights in the world, probably the most skilled aside from Toney. Johnson didn't want to fight Toney. What does that tell you about how good Toney is/must be? Don't forget, Johnson has a BIG punch.
Brewster probably hits harder than anyone in the division and he wants nothing to do with Toney. Does that tell you anything?
Vitali Klitschko backed out of a 60/40 split with Toney in which Vitali was getting 60, Toney only 40. Toney is a much bigger name in the sport and is without a doubt the draw. And Vitali didn't want to fight him. Starting to get the picture yet?
John Ruiz got his ass handed to him by Toney and used the steroid deal to suggest Toney would never have beaten him. Aside from David Tua, has Toney ever taken such a bad beating at the hands of an opponent? Are we so ignorant?
Chris Byrd, the remaining heavyweight champion, was placed on a card WITH Toney, serving as the UNDERCARD to Toney. Showtime and the fans know who is better and who is the draw in the heavyweight division? Do we? Are we so blind?
Toney is the man in the heavyweight division any way any of us care to slice it. There is no arguing this. Toney's tuneup is fine. If no one wants to fight him, he's gotta take fights like this not only to stay busy but for the money. Sure, guys like Vitali and Byrd can sit around and hope Toney gets old fast and avoid him until then, but will their victories mean anything if they are to beat Toney in two years? Hell no.
Right here, right now, Toney is the best heavyweight. The responses towards him of everyone else in the division prove this. Are there still doubters out there who can't accept the truth?
Kirk Johnson is the 3rd most skilled heavyweight in the world? At 242 pounds, 20 lbs lighter than the Vitali fight, he struggled for 8 rounds against a bloated washed up Gilbert Martinez. He stuggled against Ruiz. I hope you werent serious when you typed that.Comment

You under estimate Toney he does not get owned unless he is out of shape and heavy and even then it takes a hell of a guy to get over on him.....He is the greatest fighter against the ropes since Ali...he rarely gets hit flush...Wlad could probably get to him if he could hit him but he would be chasing Toney and get worn down and counter punched to death I would like to see it...Toney by UD if Wlad could last without quitting due to exhaustion IMO.Originally posted by TuPrincipeAgainst who?
