James Toney vs. Rob Calloway 12/1/05?

Please tell me this is some kind of sick joke. If not, wake me up when Toney actually fights someone with a pulse at heavyweight.

Right, because the fact that Toney has been out with injuries as often as Vitali Klitschko, yet this will be his 3rd fight this year,

I can really see how you're disgusted that he's keeping active.

He said on Fox's BDSSP that he's only taking it because Guinn only gave him a sparring work out, and he wants to remain active.

This keeps him in the gym and in training, keeps his weight down, and he'll beat down Calloway with ease.

He said he still fully intends to fight Chris Byrd in late January.

Nothing wrong with fighting once every few months to stay sharp.

Just another trait that makes JT a throw back fighter.

Well he doesn't want to rush it. He is only 5'9 and is a small heavyweight so he wants to get himself accustomed to the division before he takes on the bigger challanges. Nothing wrong with that. No one has really challanged him in the heavyweight division so far.

Most boxing fans know Toney is the best heavyweight in the division, but it is getting to be time for him to prove it. SIGN THE CONTRACT, BYRD, YOU ****ING *****

Well he's decent, but hes nowhere close to being the best. He has great skills but he still hasn't proven that he can take a hard heavyweight punch. Byrd is not a test to Toney. It will be a very boring fight. If Tony is as good as you put him he should fight Wlad, Peter or Brewster.

I think there's a good chance we could see a Vitali Toney fight in the spring.

Aside from that, not a lot of guys want to fight JT.

Brewster has said repeately he has zero interest in fighting Toney unless a title organization forces him to.

When Toney was looking for an opponent for early Oct, before Guinn agreed, Kirk Johnson's camp summed it up best. Goosen made the call to see if Kirk wanted the fight, and their response was honest and telling: "We do not think that would be a good fight for Kirk at this time".

Toney could get knocked out in the fight. Calloway has some power.
