A great career, but could have been so much better. Still a great though.
I'm sure we can all Agree, Floyd Mayweather Jr's career is FLAWLESS.

Not saying that I wouldn't wanted to see a Cotto-May match but I don't believe that that would have changed much... and even more it counts for Margarito and others... of course they would have been better then some of his selections... but it wasn't all his mistake IMO because at that time he wasn't somebody who called shots... ppl knew who he was but he was nowhere near a star or known outside of boxing... brought nothing big to the table with the exception of having exceptional skill and making your look bad...
I still don't see why ppl give him the blame for every fight that didn't happen below 147... at that time he wasn't a big draw and on many occasions he called enough ppl out... after he got Oscar you can blame him... but before I don't see how
Pacquiao is basically the only one that would make a splash in his resume everything else not so much I believe...Comment

The funny thing about this FREE WILLY alt was that when it was doing ****** crap like posting "Pacquiao would dominate Robinson easily" in the history section and spamming Floyd hate on here, it had a full bar of green kComment

Revisionist history...
I don't honor the whole Floyd ducked this guy and Floyd ducked that guy argument because regardless of who he fought back then, there would have to be somebody left off the list.
Had he fought Margarito instead of lineal champ Baldomir (who hadn't lost in 8 years and beat Zab for his title) the argument today would be "Why did Floyd duck Baldomir? He saw what Baldomir did to Judah and got scared... He ducked him"
Had he fought Cotto after De La Hoya, the argument today would be "Oh, he was afraid of Hatton. After seeing what Hatton did to Tszyu, he ducked him.
IMMEDIATELY before Floyd beat Shane, he was scared of Mosley and ducked him his whole career. After he beat him from pillar to post, all you hear is he was old and still caught Floyd with two shots...
Had he not fought Ortiz after Ortiz beat Berto, Ortiz's people would've gone to the media and said "We want Floyd, he's ducking us..." and then Brian Kenny, Michael Wilbon, and every other uneducated boxing fan would be youtubing Victor Ortiz and saying Floyd is scared to fight south paws because Corley hurt him and Zab was beating for 10 rounds until he got tired and Floyd only beat him after he had to punch Zab in his nuts... Revisionist history... But I do think the real story will come out when it's all said and done.Comment

Cotto would have been a good win but it would be the same hate because then yall would re-focus on Casamayor and Tzsyu.
Tszyu cant hold Floyd's jockstrap. He is so overrated its a shame. That would have been a small notch in Floyd's belt. Besides he called Tszyu out years and years ago. Hell Zab was kicking his ass outside of one fateful punch. Get over that **** please.Comment

And on top of that...
Floyd is not an imposing welter weight. It's a well known fact that Floyd is a relatively small welterweight and I'm sure that's by design. He doesn't really get up past 150 (think he was a little bigger for De La Hoya) and he lacks any serious KO power.
Now with this being said, as he was moving up through the ranks, he ONLY fought contenders and champs. Never fought bums at any weight class and was rarely the bigger fighter.
After several fights, HBO commentators said "Nobody's going to fight you..." but now we claim that every guy was beating down Floyd's door to whip his a.s.s.?
Nobody wanted to fight him because it wasn't worth it. The name that every fighter was after was De La Hoya because the payday was huge. It just so happened that Floyd turned his De La Hoya payday into something much greater. He became a brand all his own AND THEN you hear he ducked every fighter under Top Rank...
Well why didn't Arum ever tell us how much of a coward Floyd was when he was still with Top Rank? I ain't buying itComment

I remember those interviews where a bright-eyed, less media-hardened, and less business savvy Mayweather would say he wanted to fight all of those guys by name... Guys like Casamayor, Tszyu, and even Mosley never got criticized heavily for not wanting to fight Floyd...Comment
