I dont think you can use that type of logic to describe a fighter's potential as there are special circumstances and opposites exist.

For example a prime Cesar Bazan lost to Jose Luis Castillo by TKO in round 6 at Lightweight. An older inactive and over his weight Cesar Bazan lost to Cotto by TKO in round 11.

I think Cotto needs to ease in to the big time and maybe go up to 147 for more staying power, I feel he was letting himself go till corley came around and made him do the chicken dance. You could tell he wasnt in shape. After that he seemed to really get in shape for his next bouts.

What i've seen is, he has good hand speed, he moves well, he is a smart and thinking fighter. Theres been times like against Ndou where he ran out of gas at the end so maybe he needs to pace himself a little better. Other than that the man is a very solid prospect.

Cotto's handlers should keep testing him a little more and not put him in against the likes of, Castillo or Floyd just yet.

Hearns TKO Duran in 2, Hagler W Duran in 15, Hagler KTFO Hearns in 3...

Jose Luis Ramirez TKO Rosario 4, JC Chavez(your god) TKO Rosario 11...

Does that mean Ramirez is better?
Oh no! Since it's Chavez, it's a exception...

Mayweather as of now seems like the better fighter, the last Cotto fight was very sloppy, i would say he needs a few more fighter before considering mayweather

I think he's about as ready as he's gonna at this point,at 140 anyways. He might as well try to make a big fight instead of taking risky fights like Torres.

Miguel Cotto - has he got it all?

              Yes.

The biggest knock on cotto is that he has glass chin.BS ****ers.Cotto just never gets the best out of those wild exchanges he's prone to,its not that he abandons his boxing skills when he does,he's just prone to it, he likes those exchanges his biggest win earlier in his career was aginst Sosa, he did that **** then too and almost paid the price when he got hurt like in the second.Cottos problem is he never sees those slick shots coming when he's trhowing like that. But he's overcome it.Get use to Cotto being around for a long time fools.

Cotto may like indiscriminately trading punches, but if he tries that **** against Tszyu or Hatton he'd be Knocked out before the 3rd round, and he'd just look foolish against Mayweather. He may be an entertaining fighter but he seriously risks becoming the next Gatti.

That fight with Victoriano Sosa was awesome. It seemed like a who's gonna sucumb to the punishment first type of fight. Both guys landing viciously.

He COULD be a special fighter. He performed admirably against Abdaluev but against Torres he seemed a bit lost. Once he gets back to counter-punching, and no trading on the inside he will get back to his groove.

Cotto's just following the wrong direction. He knows how good his power is, and he's getting accustomed to TKOing guys, so he wants to end the fight with one of his money punches. This is totally wrong for him, he needs to get back to counter-punching and then he will get back to his groove.

I still see something special in Cotto. He definetly has a CHAMPIONS heart.
