Like a poster above said earlier, Gamboa is too agreesive and his defense is average at best. i think he gets counterpunched all night.
All that HAS to be the reason why he is still undefeated then. Gamboa is much, much better than you are giving him credit for. I think Donaire is very gifted but Gamboa is not some slow punching bum, he is quick as lightning and his power is going to be something that Donaire has never felt before.

I would favor Donaire based on overall skill but Gamboa on power...it only takes one punch to end it all. It would be a very tough, hard-fought match between the two guys.

yeah, dunno why people always get caught up on the idea that gamboa is just pure gung ho diving in with wild but blistering combinations and not much more.

i mean look at his last fight against ponce de leon, totally controlled the fight against a dangerous fighter. how?- skill, ring intelligence and, um, patience... ok juanma blasted the same guy out in one but i doubt he could have come close to controlling him in such a neat way. gamboa has very underrated boxing skills and intelligence.
with other fights he has had much less regard for what his opponents can do to him and has displayed what his nickname suggests- a ciclone, but the real impressive thing for me is that he doesn't have to rely on that and has much depth to his game.

there is a lot that gamboa does that's unorthodox BUT he has excellent fundamentals too when he chooses to draw upon them, which he does do from time to time.
there's different versions of gamboa that he chooses to apply according to the situation which is something that highly impresses me about him.

that's one of the greatest things about the cuban school of boxing- that special characteristics are honed and made the most of but there is ALWAYS a brilliantly solid technical/tactical skill base that has been developed first.

Agreed with most of your statement. Gamboa is not a straight-forward aggressor. He's an olympic gold medalist so definitely he knows how to box. Donaire will have trouble with him. His speed and intensity is to behold with also.

Gamboa kicks his ass simples not hate just obvious, he may even knock down gamboa early but I see gamboa winning as he is just all round better

As much as I like Donaire, I would be taking Gamboa to do him if they fought now or in the immediate future.

Gamboa would get starched. He'd come bum rushing in. Nonito would half step back and knock the pigmentation off his body with that ridiculously powerful left hook.

That is exactly how a fight between them would go.
Have you seen his last three fights?
