Just that I don't see Gamboa all of a sudden changing his style from his overwhelming tactic.

I see it being just like Darchinyan and Montiel. Supposedly too strong and good for Nonito. Then gets starched ridiculously in a few rounds due to over-aggression.
As I pointed out in an earlier post, this may all be relegated to the realm of "fantasy match-up". Gamboa is almost certainly making his next fight at 130, and he's already expressed a desire to move on to LW. At this rate, Yuri and Nonito might never meet...not in their primes, anyway.

gomboa didn't jump in N his last 2 fights......he fought them with great awareness, defense, & ring generalship. both darchinyan and montiel are slow brawlers.......... EXTREMELY slow compared to gomboa. also montiel was very very undersized. if you go back and look at my history I predicted that montiel will be a EASY ko for donaire based on the styles...........donaire would know right away that gomaboa is no montiel.........roach is right with this one. if donaire doesn't have the speed advantage he falls apart. gomboa would pick him apart with quick combinations........

It's still a possibility though. I believe it's all on Nonito's part. Is he willing to move up? Because I believe Gamboa would take on a Nonito challenge any day of the week.

Maybe you're right. But if Gamboa's at 135, and having success, I don't see him moving down to 126. Even 130 might be too much to ask. If Yuri is still at 130, he might be willing to take a fight with Nonito at FW. It just seems like too much to expect of Gamboa. He fought at 130 a few times earlier in his career. FW appears a little too light for him.

nonito probably is the same size as gamboa at fight night

if nonito still can punch at 126 (i think he could)than i would favor him by ko

I honestly don't know who would win a Donaire-Gamboa fight, naturally the favorite would be Yuriorkis since he is the bigger fighter and used to KOing guys at higher weights. But Donaire hits like a mule, is technically sound, and walks around at 140 and he is 5'7" with a 68" reach (compare to Pacquiao who is 5'6 1/2" with a 67" reach and c. 150 walking around weight), so you would figure he could be effective up to 130ish.

I think that fight is inevitable, but thought the same thing about Lopez-Gamboa. Hopefully Top Rank learned their lesson with that and won't sit on this one too long. Fight should happen next year at 126, Donaire already made it clear after Narvaez he's moving up. Wouldn't be at all surprised if we get a round robin between Donaire-Gamboa-Lopez starting next year at 126-130. It'll be the new Pacquiao-Barrera-Morales-Marquez, last man standing gets all the glory.

I think that a lot of people look at Donaire and see his textbook style as inherently superior to someone with a more unorthodox style like Gamboa. I must admit that I tend to think likewise, especially with someone as talented as Nonito. But I look back to the Arguello-Pryor fights and the meetings between Pacquiao and more technically polished boxers like Marquez and I'm reminded that there's more to winning than perfect technique.

Gamboa hasn't had the opportunity to face great opposition, but Salido has turned out to be better than most people originally thought. Orlando TKOed JuanMa Lopez, but Yuri handled him quite convincingly. Solis was 40-2-2 (one of those losses coming against Pacquiao) when Gamboa absolutely destroyed him. Yuri just schooled 41-3 Ponce De Leon. And Barros, who was 28-0-1 when Gamboa beat him, is no slouch.

As for Yuri's knockdowns: Gamboa has never been hurt...ever. He's experienced a few flash knockdowns, mostly due to being off-balance. He's not the only successful fighter in boxing history to suffer from that tendency.

lol!! roach is just jealous because he sees nonito as a complete fighter under other trainer's supervision....

nonito is a thinking fighter, and he got a lot of fighting style in his arsenal to confuse his opponent...

his power, speed, accuracy and timing are just unbelievable.. i don't think that all of these attributes will be affected if he adds more muscles...
