so now all the dudes with red k are saying Steve kim hates mayweather lmao

Even if he does, he cant make up **** like that because he would lose his job if he did.

And the fact that its been 3 weeks and still no #'s mean that hes probably right and that would be pathetic considering it was on 24/7, CNN, Conan, Peirs Morgan show, Mexican independence day and on a card with nothing but mexicans.

    Absolutely pathetic.

^What? Steve Kim never claimed that those were official numbers. He said those were RUMORS he's been hearing and the official number has not been released. No one knows where this rumor of 850k+ started. I doubt it came from a reliable source though

Floyd can't draw flies to ****. The majority of people only watch his fights in hopes of him losing.....there was not a big chance of Ortiz beating him.

That's just ****** logic. How did the Marquez fight sell? Ortiz had a better chance of beating Mayweather than Marquez did. Besides that, when has Mayweather been the underdog or close to it in any of his big PPV fights?

No surprise, Davies, you're a Brit, you'll probably get excited for a May-Khan fight. I personally was excited for May vs DLH, Hatton, Mosley and Ortiz. I took Numero Uno for what it was, a Mayweather circus act, tune up, easy comeback fight, not really overly excited about it. That's the only fight I can understand boxing fans not being excited about. But come on, Mosley coming off a TKO9 win over Margarito after being the heavy underdog, and Ortiz coming off a hard-fought UD over Berto in his first fight at 147 after being written off as a quitter...Floyd fights them after those two performances and you were not excited? But I bet you got excited for Pac fighting Margarito after Tony's big win against Robert Garcia, and how about fighting Cotto at 145 after Cotto's dominating performance against Clottey?

I don't know why people are so reversed on Boxingscene. They root against the guy they should be cheering.

JMM was p4p#2 at the time (for whatever that's worth) and Floyd had been off for like 2 years before that, plus JMM is very technical which gave people the impression that he had an outside chance. Not to mention the fight was postponed from it's original date and rescheduled based on a Mayweather injury.

Know what that injury was? The I can't sell fights worth **** so let's have the fight on Mexican Independence Day so JMM can carry the weight that my sorry ass can't carry, injury.

Floyd isn't a cash-cow, he never was. People only pay to see him lose- they tried the same thing this time with Ortiz but Hispanics don't affiliate with Ortiz....you kidding me, that's why it didn't sell this time. Without an opponent who has a demographic fanbase that will buy the fight, the only other people paying are those to see Floyd get his arse smacked around. 50% PPV buys from the opponent's fanbase, 25% people who want Floyd to lose, and the remaining 25% of buys are from Floyd's own loyal fans.

                Gatti fight.......Gatti fans
                Hatton fight.......Hatton fans
                DLH fight...lmao...all DLH fans
Mosley fight.....people wanting Floyd to lose
                JMM fight....all JMM fans

Without an opponent who has a locked in fanbase.......undisclosed PPV sales numbers a month out from the fight and speculation that it was a flop. The proof is in the pudding.........

He was close to be the underdog vs DLH. I think Lampley said the odds were even on fight night. But through the fight build up I think Floyd was the favorite. But your point still stands, Floyd coming up to a weight he's never fought in, fighting a bigger guy and a top 5 JMW, not being the underdog in that fight. Floyd will never be the underdog, not even against Sergio Martinez and even way less against Pacquiao. Mayweather vs Pacquiao would be the biggest HBO PPV mismatch since Mayweather-Marquez.

The fight was a circus act and every one knew that

Floyds fans just missed him and wanted to watch the guy fight again, combine that with Marquez's fans and you got a successful PPV[like if 850k is not successful even though is not official]. Add the fact that Floyd has been in HBO PPV before, and Marquez was in HBO PPV before, there was no way that PPV was gonna bomb like people were predicting "The PPV will be lucky to even get to 500k" "I'm gonna boycott it" blah blah blah.

But come on man, all that mess you said about Marquez's chances against Floyd, that was BS.

Its called ducking and dodgeing and cherry picking. He would've been the underdog if he fought Pac, Cotto and Margarito and he knows it. He probably would've been underdog/even money if he fought Clottey after Clottey fought Corrales.
