Tyson wasn't with Rooney during that time. His new trainers teached him different methods, the bobbing and weaving defense was scrapped. Think about it, it's like training a pitbull to kill for 10 years then trying to teach it to behave!
too bad we will never know because mike tyson is a headcase who couldnt get it together whenever he stepped up against someone who hit back and thought they had a shot to win
to me i think tyson is one of the best if not the greatest of his time just look at his old knockouts the way he moves the way he throws punches its incredible how fast he was

Yes he fought buster in his prime and got busted!!!!
People don't get it... they really don't. Oh, he was out of his prime when he faced Buster Douglas. SO the **** what! He apparently was only good for about 3 years, which is **** compared to Holyfield's and Lewis' dominance then.
After years of reading bull about Tyson, i came to the conclusion that Tyson-haters are morons.
Some of the greatest heavyweights of all time DUCKED people. Tyson ducked no one. He beat everybody of the 80s. There was no question that Mike could've been the greatest of all time if things went his way. And loosing Rooney is DEFINITELY the biggest mistake Tyson made. Just look at what he's become as a fighter. He looses against a guy he could've knocked out in a matter of rounds, and then goes to jail for 3 years, having no chance to comeback as the great boxer he ones whas.
One of the things idiots write about Tyson is that he fought lousy opponents. BULL!. A champion is still a champion, no matter how famous they were. Tyson destroyed the ones upon a time great champion Trever Berbick(Who had Ali on his record). Just 2 rounds and it was over. James Smith was a great fighter. Okay so Tyson didn't KO him in one round, you cant ko every opponent you ever fought. Tell me one boxer who did that. Tony Tucker was UNDERFEATED and was a great boxer, ofcource untill he met Mike in the ring. Still a good fight but Tyson whas too dominant. And OLD Larry Holmes. Yeah, he was older, but it wouldn't of made a big diffirence if he was in his prime. Why do people diss tyson because he destroyed Holmes? He was the only guy that EVER ko'd Larry. Even other fighters couldn't ko an old Larry Holmes. He destroyed the undefeated Micheal Stinks. I could go on, Tyson could win against annybody with the help of Rooney in his prime. He will always be my favorite boxer.
