I just noted that the only people I've seen on this site so bent on discrediting Hopkins for some strange reason, are you to and JuyJuy.

Not saying you're anything like that guy, granted I think he might be an ex-Eubank PR guy that was fired for being obsessed.

Nowehre did I say or mean to imply all Brits think this way.

Look, I think you missed the point of my post... The reason I was comparing Calzaghe's career to Hopkins is to try and make you see where meaningless defences of a single belt will get you,I was using Calzaghe's career as an example.

In circles we go:

A good but not exceptional fighter doesn't dominate the middleweight division for 10 years never losing more than 4 rounds in a fight, breaking the all time record for middleweight defesnes.

A good fighter but not exceptional is a Joe Calzaghe, who managed to go undefeated, but for whatever reason, did not fight a series of credible challenges in the division he was in.

Oh, we're cool man, it just seemed like a ****ty thing to throw in the middle of a debate, that's all. Like if me and you met for a drink talking about boxing in a bar and you said some ****, and I went "yeah, but you're a Yank." It's like "wtf? What did he have to bring that **** up for?"

Like I said, we are separated from the media to a large extent with Hopkins though. Don't get to see all the promos, only get to read the hype in The Ring.
