I'm a huge Cotto fan and I just don't like the sound of this one bit. 8 weeks to go Miguel, get it sortedComment

Trust me, I'm not like you idiots who only see one and assume it's the whole nation.Comment

Cotto has to mimic the way Sugar Shane Mosley fought Margarito.
The only why Cotto is winning this fight is by fighting Maragarito the way Mosely fought him. Thats the kind of style i see that would work, else if he fights the same way he did last time he will get stopped again. Cotto needs to hit the body alot more and put full power into those punches like Mosely did. He also needs to grab maragarito and turn him around then take hes shots, that would work. He has to fight in the center of the ring and not back pedel. He can't fight the way pacman fought margarito because he dont got that kind of speed and the different punching angles pacman throws.Comment

Trainers aren't overrated, especially trainers who can draw up great gameplans.
Cotto fought a great fight against Yuri Foreman because of Emanuel Steward's gameplan. Cotto was used to following laterally moving opponents around the ring; even though he'd win, he'd get hit tons in the process. Against Foreman, he didn't follow him, he stood center ring, planted his left foot, and pivoted off it. Not chasing Foreman, but putting smart pressure on him, making Foreman come to him and timing him with jabs in the process.
Diaz seems as if he's a good boxing trainer from his training of Solis and Pascal, but he is going to have to teach, what Steward is great at, which is getting his fighter to breaking their opponents rhythm and lowering their punch output.
Cotto can't afford to make make too many tactical errors in this fight, he has trouble against stronger opponents as it is.
Its not rocket science to see something like a guy having a weak left hand, or bad balance, or notice he drops his hands.
Trainers=overrated.Comment

Im really liking the sound of this Benitez, not happy about the timing - its not ****ing ideal is it 8 weeks before a mega fight and ur camp has already started!? But i think they will be good together, if he can get past Margs and i still think he will i can see this lad being good for Cotto's careerComment

Im not saying Steward is a bad trainer or that he didn't do some nice things with Cotto but do you think he is the only trainer capable of making those adjustments?
Then bottom line in the Foreman fight was that his style was tailor made for Cotto-fights off his backfoot,not a high workrate,relatively soft puncher, and Cotto could hurt him. Cotto would have beaten Foreman with his friend as his trainer.Comment
