Just look at the difference of how Cotto and Margarito positioned their upper body in front of Manny compared to how Floyd positioned his upper body against Ortiz. Cotto and Margarito made it more easier for Manny to hit them because they kept their upper body in the same leaned forward stance with their heads pushed out straight forward. It made it more easier for Manny to easily sneaked in his straight left hand and still be in balance to changes direction.
Floyd keep his head and torso in a lean backward stance position where he can easily roll back with the straight left with it having a lesser effect compare to the higher degree of effect it would make if he were to position his torso in a more straight forward position.Last edited by Carpe Diem; 09-30-2011, 02:59 PM.

Just counted round 11 of Clottey vs Pacquiao, I counted 115 punches thrown by Pacquiao, compubox say 117. I think I may have missed a couple.
When Pacquiao starts throwing combos you can hardly keep up, those compubox guys do a great job in counting the punches thrown.

In 2 fights vs Juan Manuel Marquez, Manny Pacquiao landed a total of 148 punches in the first fight while throwing 639 punches.
In their 2nd fight Pacman threw 619 punches and only landed 157 punches.
Floyd Mayweather threw 493 punches and landed 290!. Mayweather almost landed double the amount of shots on Marquez in one fight than Pac did in 24 rounds.
The GAP in skill level is clearly apparent
Notice the superb technician JMM....
Notice how Marquez looks like a novice...
Manny Pacquiao in 2 fights and a total of 24 rounds threw 1258 punches. He ONLY landed 305 punches in 24 rounds.
Mayweather landed 290 punches in (1 fight) ONLY 15 less than Manny( in 2 fights) & he threw 765 less punches.

When Floyd throw the right, he stick his chin out, very open to the left hook, Manny has the footwork and handspeed to land it.

Now compare the Hatton, Mosley and De La Hoya fights.

When Floyd throws, when any fighter throws they are open.
Floyd is well conditioned but Manny will take him out of his comfort zone and make him fight at a pace he is not use to.
Can't see how Floyd wins this one.
