Byrd made Vitali surrender, he didn't need no stinkin' judges.

      That was round 9.

You tell me how you think Byrd would have won a decision being that he was down by 5-7 rounds with 3 rounds to go.
Byrd would have lost the decision even if he had won all the remaining rounds, and that's why Vitali is still to this day so heavily criticized for quitting.

Power puff puncher or not, Byrd would have made it 3 long and tough rounds for Vitali, and Vitali didn't want that. He took the easy way out.

Let's be real : Byrd did better in that fight than some people want to recall, but he was not winning this fight on the cards anyway.

Byrd was dominated by one armed Vitali and destroyed twice by Wlad.

That funny i made a thread about this the other day, here is what i said.

I recently re-watched the Byrd vs Vitali fight and i have to say that Byrd did a lot better than many fans say. I had him winning 3 rounds, he was doing a really good job of making Vitali miss throughout the entire fight and was able to land his own punches when he mounted an offence and in the 9th he was backing Vitali up and landing at will.

I know that Vitali had that bad shoulder but i hear a lot of talk of Vitali totally dominating Byrd and while he was ahead on the score cards I never really saw Byrd get dominated in this fight. If Vitali had carried on with the bad shoulder its not inconceivable that Byrd could have won the last 3 rounds which would have given him a draw on my card.

LOL< there was only three roudns left! unless he dropped Vitali two times in each round it was impossible to win a decision. . . he got lucky vitali blew his shoulder out. . .

there was 3 round left, i had Byrd winning 3 of the first 9 so he could have got a draw on my card thats not to say he would have won the last 3. It doesnt matter as Vitali quit.
