Dude was cowering on the ropes for much of the night deftly afraid to give Vitali any openings... for fear he would've IKED his a$$$ BACK to Michigan.. a few pitty pat featherfisters backing up a Vitali Klitschko who is nearly unconscious with pain & he wants to act all tough & get credit for the W Because Vitali just said... "HERE CHRIS... take my belt... it'll be back in the family the NEXT time you fight.... let me get my rest & shoulder healed up so I CAN THEN fully TERRORize the heavyweight division like it's NEVER BEEN DONE before".
jimmy i noticed you said byrd was "cowering" on the ropes...i'm confused because you make it sound like byrd was the one who "quit"...what was the result of the fight again?
Quitting was the biggest embarassment of Vitali's life, and he STILL wanted no part of a rematch, That says it all right there..
Chris Byrd was Vitali's true contemporary not Lennox. I always found it strange how Vitali begged 40 year old Lennox to come out of retirement but totally avoided active 30 yr old Byrd from 2000-2005.
How many GREAT Heavyweight champs got beat by contemporaries without avenging the loss?
-Ali got back at Frazier & Norton
-Marciano even though he was undefeated got back at Lastarza and Ezzard Charles.
-Lennox avenged Mccall and Rahman
-Joe Louis got schmelling
-Vitali ran for the slowest fattest HWs he could find after being humiliated by Byrd.
Byrd barely had a scratch on him after 9 rounds of action. He exposed Vitali as a one dimensional accumulation puncher and not a true knockout artist.
****wod... you keep posting my famous quote because you know everything in it is 100% factual.. Has a boxer EVER been not outboxed 50 straight times with out ever being outboxed once????? YOu just show what a moron you are because you can't possibly face an eventual factual statement if Vitali fights 5 more times..... j---off!

You got jokes son? I don't stutter... the last time i checked my speech impediment. Chris Byrd subscribed to the Kevin Johnson school of soft knocks.... let me make Vitali miss because i'm great on D.... BUT don't commit once to a punch or risk getting ktfo... Only difference between both fights is Vitali was smarter & not falling for rhe cowardly bs of Chris' FEATHERFisted protege & armpunched his way to a 12 rds to zilch complete shutout.
Vitali overly committed on his shots vs Byrd BECAuse he was all about getting you the phuck out of there back in the day. He fell for Byrd's trap & his shoulder followed. with that being said he still ouththrew & outlanded him... got in a few power shots just to keep Byrd honest & cowering & gave him the last rd bceause his shoulder was practically useless by then... so yes.. a coward gets brave when the bully is disarmed.... when he's fully armed it's back to cowering mode... both KJ & bYRD were no dummies... they were strictly there to play D.. any sign of O & THE REF would've counted to 10... they stuck with there strengths.. made Vitali LOOK somewhat amateurish while STEALING one rd out of 21..... that's all that needs to be said.. What other fighters can claim they lost a fight in such a manner & then the Lewis debacle & have those be there ONLY so ca;lled defeats while
EVERYTHING ELSE IS A WHITEWASH... VITALI IS THE ONLY FIGHTER IN BOXING HISTORY THAT IS A PERFECT & DOMINANT 45-0 IN outboxing ever opponent he's ever faced.. HE'S WON 95% OF ALL THE RDS HE'S EVER FOUGHT & KO'ED 89% OF ALL OPPONENTS WHO DARED LACE THEM UP VS HIM.... NOT ONE OPPONENT HAS EVER ASKED FOR SECONDS & DON'T LET cHRIS' BRAVADO FOOL YOU... HE WAS NEVER DOWN WITH A SECOND HELPING OF DR. IRONFIST AS HE KNEW HE LUCKED OUT ON THE BOXING COUPE OF THE CENTURY... HE'D RATHEWR HAVE GOTTEN HIS ASS KICKKED BY WLADIMIR TWICE THEN TO FACE A VITALI WHO WOULD TEAR HIS HEAD RIGHT OFF FOR THE PUBLIC SCRUTINY HE HAD TO DEAL WITH AT THE HANDS OF THE FEATHERFISTER... DO WE UNDERSTAND EACH OTHER... NOW?

yOU GOT MORE JOKES jOE c...... you can clearly see Byrd cowering on the ropes doing his peaak aboo.. now you see me now you don't dfensive tactic... His loss was avenged.. not just once but twice by the more fragile bro... Vitali can't be bothered by the featherfisted pests... he got bigger fish to fry as you duly mentioned.. he had nothing to prove to Byrd or anyone else... not after he schooled him for 9 rds. Do you really think Vitali considered that a loss that needed to be avenged by him personally? He sent W;lad to dog him who has more patience than him & is less overzealous. With Lennox he was in a REAL fight... blood & guts... so naturally ofcourse he wanted to fight somebody who fights & hits back & doesn't cower on the ropes waiting for a miracle shoulder to pop out of it's socket as Byrd was clearly doing so thanks for pointing out all these valid points Joey C!

His loss was never avenged.
When you surrender your own king in chess, that is chalked up as a loss. No one cares about how many knights and bishops you took before the stoppage. No one cares what your brother did against the same opponent.
The Chess theme applies to his other loss as well. Lennox goes straight for the King, while Vitali is busy taking pawns. "If Lennox didnt take my king, I know I beat him on pawns" hahahahaha! Vitali is a sore loser in ever sense of the word.
