  • Comments Thread For: Byrd: Vitali Klitschko Quit, He Knew I Would Stop Him!

It was the biggest win of Chris Byrd's 16-year boxing career, yet to this day credit for the victory remains as elusive as his chin was for most of his fights.

I think Byrd would have ek out a decision if it were to go the distance. Byrd was getting to Vitali with his pitty pat punches and
making Vitali missed left and right.

LOL @ this powder puff punching p*ssy thinking he can stop the iron-chinned Vitali.

You lost every round you disgrace, you were lucky Vitali suffered that injury.

i have watched that fight several times over the years and i always come to the conclusion that Vitali quit because Byrd was coming on strong. Byrd was driving Vitali backwards and Vitali could not fight going backwards and was getting caught. Byrd had his number on the night i have no doubt about that.

Vitali was DEFINITELY getting outboxed by Byrd in the mid to late rounds, if Byrd had've won the last 3 rounds, he should've gotten no less than a draw.

But no way in hell does he win a descision in Germany. Look at the judges scorecards, he was in the process of being robbed. If anybody says that Byrd won any less than 3 rounds up until the 9th, than they're just simply on crack or just trolling.

He DID stop Vitali. Made him miss like crazy, destroyed his shoulder in the process, and he put more pressure as the rounds went on. Result : Vitali quit.

Uh....scores at the time of the stoppage.

                88-83 | judge: Ruben Garcia Dr. 89-82 | judge: Joachim Jacobsen 88-83

                That was round 9.

You tell me how you think Byrd would have won a decision being that he was down by 5-7 rounds with 3 rounds to go.

Absolutely not possible and the judges proved it here.

Vitali admited just recently that he quit because he would have collapsed otherwise.. said he couldnīt see anything anymore because of the pain and was ready to go to sleep. Byrd would have won by KO if Vitali had not quit on his stool
