Yeah, like he did with Cintron, Williams 2x, Pavlik, and Dzinzuruk. Just don't stop, don't take any light fights at all. Do like Miguel Cotto, fight the Yuri Foremans and Ricardo Mayorgas of the world.

Williams, Pavlik and Dzinzuruk would all beat the crap out of the two guys in your avatar. That's Martinez's recent lineup he had to face. He already took on Dzinzuruk after he wanted an easy fight when he beat Williams, and HBO shoved Serhiy down Sergio's throat. Now according to you and a couple of other people, let's keep on shoving tough fights up Martinez's ass, while our favorite fighters take on easy fights and avoid Martinez.

I'd love that fight because Quilin would beat Pirog to a pulp. Golovkins got a shot to do some things but Pirog, he isn't special. Dudes turning 32 soon and has never beat a top 15 fighter. What pisses me off is people on this site actually rank him highly for beating a 20 year old kid that didn't belong.

HBO calls the shots when it comes to a fighter like Sergio, and they've already used up their budget for the year. Martinez has been trying to fight Cotto, Chavez Jr, Mayweather, Pacquiao, and other big names since winning the title, but has been left empty handed. So what can he do but keep fighting lesser opponents and hope something pans out.

People say he needs to move up, but he hasn't even been fighting at 160 for two years yet! He just moved up about 18months ago for the first Williams fight.

If Chavez ducks him again, and the WBC stays true to their word that they'll strip him (they wont) he will likely face #1 challenger Rubio next, who KO'd Lemiuex last year to earn the spot.

If Pac, Mayweather and the likes don't fight Martinez, it's no problem to fight for his WBO belt that is rightfully his. If Pirog deserves is not a relevant question. Martinez can unify the ring belt and the WBO and that's about it! So let the fight with Pirog happen. I like the style match up and I think it would be an amazing scrap!

Bunema / Cintron / williams / pavlik / williams / dzinziruk - Pirog is very very good from the eyeball test, but name me someone of note that he has beaten (prospect jacobs?) who had no business fighting for a title? no one is on here speaking on how the wbc stripped him of his middle weight to hand deliver it to someone who is not even skill wise ready to defend it - all i see on this site are fans of specific boxers who have 0 knowledge of the game, and defend their favorite boxers when known facts are thrown their way - the game is dying and half you guys are the pallbearers!
Another guy missing the point. Di Bella has clearly stated on numerous occasions that Pirog is basically a nobody and brings nothing to the table. Im just saying that when you fight Darren Barker and say that its bs. Im not saying Martinez is a coward or anything like that. So take your snooty ass so called real fan bs and gtfo.

Sergio should fight the dude hear in the near future. If he fights guys that are held in less regard then fans should lose respect for him.

After the Chavez fight, this is the best fight out of all the realistic possible opponents for him.

If Cotto wins the rematch with Margarito, I don't see Arum letting Sergio destroy him unless they offer him a big piece of change. Arums not going to put on a Top Rank PPV just to let his fighter lose.

i'm not sure who would win, but it'd be a good fight. yeah, golovkin got some promo issues or something from letting him fight here in the states. i think if he was able to, he'd be a bit bigger name than he is now. deff get some more attention. pirog is capable of doing big things, but right now it isn't happening he's not trying to fight in more relevant places, like canada, england, or the us. i think if he pursued to fight in countries like that, he'd have more buzz to him.

yeah, martinez is pretty much a risk for company like hbo, or showtime. guy can turn old overnight and have his career pretty much over. so i can see why he fights whoever hbo approves him to. like the whole zbik thing, hbo didn't approve zbik for martinez, but then approved him for chavez jr. it all boiled down to who you're with. martinez is with dibella, who isn't a powerful guy like arum. check out this dan rafael article explaining the whole situation, pretty messed up (it's not that long of a read). not sure if you knew the whole situation, but for anyone who didn't check it out:

again, why do you keep ignoring my posts. do you not see them or do you choose to ignore what i said. the martinez camp, right after sergio beat dzinziruk, said they're going to take an easy fight. this darren barker fight is it. and like i said, martinez is fixed on becoming p4p number 1, he knows if he continues fighting nobodies like barker, he'll lose his number 3 spot he's currently at. barker is a fight to pass time imo. i'm sure he'll face someone better after it. he better, he knows he'll get drop in rankings if he doesn't
