A few years ago, I recall Ali being walked out onto the field at Yankee stadium. (I think it was before the start of a World Series game.) Derek Jeter was holding his arm like Ali was a decrepit old man. (Like most people, Jeter must've thought that Muhammad is absolutely incapacitated by his condition.) When they reached their appointed mark, Ali broke free and threw several fast punches at Derek. Jeter leaned back in obvious shock. The camera cut away quickly....

Never met any boxers, but I have met plenty of NFL players plus David Robinson when he was in high school and Barry Bonds and Bobby Bonilla when they were in the minors.

Ran into Roberto Duran twice at the Cotto-Pac weigh in. The second time we got an usher to take a pic of him, my boys, and me. He had a digital camera and couldn't work it because he said he was too much of an "indio" lol. My friend handed it to me because I'm good with electronics but I didn't have time to do anything because he got mauled right away... He laughed when I handed it back to him and said I had the same problem he did.
After the fight, we were walking out of the MGM and Amir Khan was in right in front of me in line. It took about 30 minutes to get out of the arena but I was too bummed out from Cotto losing that I didn't have the energy to say anything. I wish I did though. He seems like a pretty solid person.
