Felix Savon is a monster. Too bad he never got the chance to go pro. Did you speak with him much?

i didn't meet any athlete but my boss just told me on friday that he met pacquiao for a photoshoot right after the hatton fight. he went into his hotel room, took pictures, autographs, and hung out with him. while he was sitting on pac's couch, he saw a bag that said "mgm" on it and asked what it was. one of pac's team members said it was manny's purse. my boss asks "manny carries a purse?" the guy told him to look inside and inside was $200,000 cash.

You know his "wit" is kind of limited... so to speak.

We saw him in Expocuba, in the outskirts of Havana, at Havana International Fair, and we yelled "Savón!! Asere, déjanos sacarte una foto!!" He said "Tabién, tabién." We took the picture, but we were kind of busy chasing nice girls around, so we wandered off after the pic. Though I vaguely remember one of my friends asking him if he would go to the 2000 Olympics or something like that, and he said "pol supueto" in his Oriental jive.

He seemed very very humble and shy.

Cool, man. I can totally hear all that in my head. You know the Cuban authorities must've pegged Savon early for an amateur boxing "career".

I think Savón was pulled straight from a plantation. He must have grown up sodomizing chickens, horses, and any kind of animal farm.

Tyson, Holmes, Calzaghe, Sugar Ray, Holyfield, Hatton and David Price. The only one that came across as a **** was Holyfield. He spoke and acted like everyone else was beneath him.

Good thread. I've never met any pro boxers since they've gone pro. I went to school and grew up around Jermain Taylor, but he's several years older so I didn't know him well.
