Martinez is so overrated. All of his fights of late were against these slow fighters who did nothing but come forward, throw punches and left themselves wide open.

I think Sergio should chase Floyd for a fight and forget Pac, because he dont want to move down in weight to fight Pac, and then suddenly try to move up in weight for Floyd.

If he beats Floyd, he can then move down for Pac, just seems easier that way.

Thats a bit dodgy really considering people thought Floyd would beat Ortiz anyway. SM would beat Ortiz any weight as well. So i think FLoyd needs to do more, but one fight seems to keep Floyd ticking along.

I used to think that Martinez would walk right through Floyd & stop him early, but now I think Floyd would actually be competitive. In the middle of the ring, Floyd & Martinez will be close to even. Floyd's defense & Martinez's movement keeps it close. The difference between Martinez & Floyd's usual opponents is Martinez moves pretty good around the ring. He can get in & out & give angles.

Floyd still backs straight up sometimes pulling his head back & still can be forced into his shoulder roll defense. If Martinez can back him into the ropes with that one punch power he's shown lately & **** Floyd's hip bone, he can lull Floyd's movement & force him to drop his hands.

For Floyd in the center of the ring, he'll have to let Martinez lead & counter over the top with straight fast punches. (He got wide with some shots against Ortiz), he can't do that with Martinez. Also Martinez isn't shy about exchanges. He won't be awed with floyd's speed or precision, he also has both. I pick Martinez to win, but in a competitive fight. This is actually the best matchup of any big star fighters. Both Floyd & Martinez would embarrass Pacman.

And that's without the size difference. Add Martinez's size & it's clear that he wins.

mosley wouldnt beat ortiz right now we both know this. a prime shane would be the undisputed welterweight king right now though.

Martinez has fought at 147 and 154, only moving to 160 a couple of years ago at team Pavlik's request.

He's really not much bigger than Floyd.

Floyd's arms are longer at 26".

Alot=Marquez? Name more please and don't even try it with Hatton, cuz Hatton is naturally bigger than FMJ.

Pacquiao has no problem fighting bigger men like Margarito.

He also had no problem fighting him coming off a KO from Mosley, 1 yr off and then looking horrendous against a D class fighter. When Margarito wanted the fight previously, Pac and co. wanted nothing to do with it. Once he looked vulnerable, and only then was it time to take the fight. Same with Shane Mosley.

You don't need to revise history to make Pac look good. Floyd had consistently been the smaller man in most of his fights for at least the last 10 yrs or more and he didn't need ask for catch weights either when he wasn't. Pac, only very recently has started being the smaller man, since me moved to welterweight. Before that, he was the larger man in the ring. Pac unlike FMJ has needed the help of catch weights in 2 of his championship fights and fought ODH at a weight he hadn't fought at in years. FMJ fought him at his own weight.
