Arturo Gatti is an H.B.O. creation as far as fighter rankings were concerned. I think he is an exciting fighter, a guy who is good for the sport....but he is not a good fighter.

Gatti was generally regarded as a top 140 pound fighter due to his title holder status. I thought that was absurd to say the least.

He was and still is highly overrated as a fighter.

Case and Point:

There were actually people who thought he could beat Mayweather. I thought those people needed to re assess their boxing knowledge a tad bit.

I am a big Gatti fan, but his last three fights before Mayweather were hand picked by management because Gatti puts asses in the seats. Gatti is a warrior and willing to take fights that others wouldn't. He took Mayweather against the advice of his staff. Knowing the odds were against him, he needed to fight a fighter with high caliber, for his own sanity. Win or lose. Don't bash too much, unless you are willing to bash Mayweather. Who has he fought???? I don't see him taking on the fighters that could pose a-----not even problem, a good fight.

Anybody here me??? I try not to be biased about Gatti cuz I am a huge fan. He is not the caliber boxer of Mayweather, but is Mayweather the caliber warrior as Gatti???
