However, even if - in your opinion - there isn't good fighters prior to '03, he then goes on to beat Barrera twice, win a trilogy against Morales, and better Juan Manuel Marquez - all P4P elites in their primes at their best weights. That is something Mayweather just doesn't have (although he too has a stellar record).

...and yet hardly anyone had ever heard of him until he fought and beat fighters faster and 'more convincingly' than Mayweather did, which is his point. No one was calling for Mayweather, the #1 P4P fighter at the time, to fight Pacquiao until he beat De La Hoya. He certainly hadn't been getting many PPV buys.

Its pretty undisputable that Top Ranks strategy for the past few years is to beat fighters more convincingly than Mayweather did. Freddie Roach himself said as much before they fought Mosley, which was someone he was, on camera, quoted as saying he didn't want Pacquiao to go up against.

Pacquiao was the #1 P4P not Mayweather before he beat DLH.

Lehlohonolo Ledwaba - was the current IBF super bantamweight champion and was a rising star in the super bantamweight division when pac beat him on two weeks short notice.

Jorge Eliecer Julio - two time world bantamweight champion and was also a bronze medalist in the 1988 summer olympics.

chatchai sasakul was the best flyweight at the time when pac knocked him out. sahaprom was a bantamweight champion lol. pac never fought at bantamweight. also pac didn't get KO'ed right after he won the title. he lost the title in his second defense.

there's no denying that ledwaba was still a good win for pac at super bantamweight. ledwaba may not have been on the same star level as corrales but it was a good fight to introduce american fight fans to pacquiao since at that time he was relatively unknown in the u.s. also, ledwaba was a world champion at super bantamweight and had 5 successful title defenses before pac completely destroyed him on two weeks short notice.

also julio was on the tail end of his carrer, i agree, but it was still a nice name to have on pac's resume at the time.
