Anybody with DVR can go back and what Cortez break them up to take the point, then put Ortiz in ho's corner and says: "LET'S GO!". Cased closed.

Ortiz should have protected himself, but Cortez was kind of giving mixed signals when he looks and points outside the ring and asks if they're ready, as if he was making sure they were ready before he instructed them to begin fighting again.

Saying "protect yourself at all times" is just an excuse to make it look like it wasn't a cheap shot.

Don't get me wrong, YES it is true that you should protect yourself at all times, but they were in the act of sportsmanship, AND FMJ ACKNOWLEDGED it with the same gesture but suddenly PUNCHED his way into a win. That is a cheap shot. IF you don't want to show or exchange sportsmanship THAT'S FINE, but YOU "ACKNOWLEDGED" and clearly TOOK ADVANTAGE. If he didn't acknowledge the gesture and just went on, no question it'll be legal. He acknowledge, OF COURSE your opponent will not be protecting himself during those exchange of gesture.

Bottomline, it was cheap.

If they studied Floyd (even his last two fights) he ALWAYS goes for hitting off the break. Nothing new! He did it to Marquez and Mosley. He did it to Ortiz slightly earlier in the fight. It was a fight and Ortiz's team made such a stink about Floyd's elbows and I saw him reel them in on more than on occassion when Vic pressed.

I knew Victor would use his head but not like that. What a disgrace...Then u want the guy (a future hall of famer) to go on and box with a hole in his lip? Victor was defeated when he headbutted Floyd. All of those blows were missing. Floyd was laughing and he got frustrated. Hey, live by the sword, die by the sword. Not the best ending but, a justified one IMO.

Even if you think Ortiz was dumb for not protecting himself Mayweather is just as dumb if he thinks that KO impressed anyone. I saw Mayweather take repeated lead left hands (what do you think Pacquiao will do?) get bullied to the ropes and roughed up and then find a way to win off of a cheap shot.

OOOH people will be so damned impressed with Mayweather now cause Cotto never gets people to the ropes, and Pacquiao doesn't know how to throw a left hand at all. Please people... Mayweather has nothing and tonight proved it.

Ortiz couldn't stop smiling!!

First...I'm no Mayweather fan.
Second...Ortiz was taking a nice beating (look at how his right eye was swelling up)...and had absolutely no game plan for beating Mayweather.
Third...Ortiz is so frustrated that he goes for a ****** head butt...which like his punches tonite...just grazed Mayweather.
Forth...After the point is taken away by Cortez...Ortiz walks up to Mayweather with his hands down like he's going to hug it out with Floyd...who after a brief exchange...hits him with a left...which Ortiz takes, looking for Cortez to step in to take a point from Floyd...but Cortez is looking at Ortiz's corner...so Floyd proceeds to knock him out with a right.
Summary:
Ortiz let himself be counted out thinking he's either going to win because of the illegal punches....or...he's got his built in excuse for not taking a beating for the next 8 rounds!
HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A HAPPIER FIGHTER AFTER LOSING HIS BELT???
Bottom Line: FLOYD GIVES HIM A REMATCH BECAUSE HE CAN BEAT HIM IN HIS SLEEP...AND THEY BOTH CASH IN AGAIN...UGH! AT LEAST I DIDN'T PAY TO SEE THIS FIGHT!
