Did anyone else hear Michael Buffer during the weigh in when he said that there were still some tickets left?

It definitely picked up more buzz than even I expected.
Their contrasting personalities are what help sell the fight even more.
I'm certain Ortiz generated more fans who hadn't seen him fight before.
Promo-wise it's done quite well.Comment

I didn't expect this much hype, I just came from the barber shop, and everybody was talking about. People have been calling me from job to find out where i'm watching this fight. I'm going to the bars, but I guess people are actually buying this fight.Comment

Yeah, that's what I mean. I don't think the fight was bigger than everyone thought but I just think it's the fight hype especially towards the end. I bet when the fight does eventually arise, it'll be exactly how Mayweather-Mosley turned out - i.e. shows Floyd's weaknesses with scary moments for him although no knockdown, Ortizs' power but with Floyd ultimately winning a UD confortably. If anything, that is my prediction otherwise I'd expect a Floyd 10 round TKO.Comment

A hardcore boxing fan wouldn't concern himself with being swayed by promotion. In fact, the hardcore boxing fans I know have contempt for hype, but realize that its necessary for the sport.
The only people who I know who are really concerned with how well a fight is hyped are casual fans who pay to see it and promoters who cash the checks.Comment
