I'm ******? your the one that's ****** because you keep telling me that it didn't happen when I provided proof to you. This is not even me saying it.

"We're looking for guys like Ricky Hatton and 'Pretty Boy' Floyd Mayweather. So you're seeing now the finishing touches on the emerging superstar, and in 2006 hopefully he will be able to claim the mantle of the real, real superstar."

Hatton emerged as the recognized 140-pound champion with his TKO of Kostya Tszyu June 11. Mayweather, the pound-for-pound king who is also promoted by Arum, stopped Arturo Gatti to claim a junior welterweight title two weeks later.

Cotto against either man would certainly qualify as a super fight, but before either match can be explored seriously, he has to keep winning."
    You are the ****** one.

More proof Cotto never ducked Hatton and neither did Arum.
I read the link and Cotto did say he wanted Hatton BUT did Arum make the fight? This article was in 2005 and Arum said Cotto would be ready in 2006. Cotto probably didn't duck them but Arum sure did it for Cotto.

Again Frank Warren (Hatton Promoter at the time) didn't want the fight. He won against Tszyu his stock got high and he turned down a Cotto fight to fight Maussa who Cotto destroyed years before and then he moved up to 147 in early 2006 and when Cotto moved to 147 Hatton came back to 140. Warren saw Cotto as too big of a risk to take because at the time the money was not there Arum saw it as an opportunity to turn Cotto in to a big star by offering to fight him in England because he knew Hatton was overrated. They were in negotiations from 2004, 2005 and 2006 Hatton team turned Arum down everytime deciding to take other fights.

Think Clottey, Margarito and Mosley. As for your testing thoery, Pac shouldn't have a problem then.

          Ask yourself this:
When's the last time Pac fought a Champion? Or even a fighter that looked good coming off a win?
Ask yourself this: How the hell did Pac get his championship belt? :smileysex

Not from a champion but from a quitter. Cotto didn't beat any champion for that belt. If you read the question correctly you would notice that Cotto does not apply as he was coming off the 2 worst performances of his life.

But lets say it is Cotto and he didn't just quit in the ring then win a vacant belt (LIKE ALL HIS BELTS) vs a bum and go life and death vs Clottey.

So when was the Pac Cotto fight 2008? What year is it again? SO 3 years ago is when Pac last fought a quitter that had a title? Damn thats the BEST win he has had in 3 years? ouch....

Your question did say "OR," or am I mistaken? Or did you just change your mind to the other option? And the other option on the other side of the other option was "a champion," so technically I answered your question.

But now that you bring it up, after all events played out, Pac's last legitimate threat IMO was JMM (2nd fight) -- 3 years (Cotto was 2 years)? Nothing compared to Mayweather's last legitimate threat. Who gave his ass the most trouble and how long ago?

                  • Have to love Mayweather "logic". Okay so Cotto wasn't ready to fight him then, and was being protected? But Victor (24 years old)....yeh he's ready? Lol.

                    • Sure Floyd, sure, whatever you say (tounge in cheek).

The fact is, Cotto never ducked anyone. I can't say the same for Floyd.
