Only Boricuas believe that Floyd ducked Cotto. So let me give you one FACT:

When Floyd came up to 140 and beat Gatti, there were only two guys to fight, Hatton and Cotto. Hatton's team said Hatton wasn't ready and Evengelista Cotto (his trainer at that time) said they were not ready for Floyd.

Floyd was a small guy coming up in weight from 135Ibs and all the champs refused to fight him so he left that division because there was no one to fight (after he beat Sharmba Mitchel) and went on to 147Ibs for bigger names.

Later we hear idiots(with their brains infested with maggots and ****) saying that Floyd beat Hatton because he was the bigger man. Floyd came up from 130Ibs yet Hatton spent all his career at 140Ibs, so who's the bigger man?

I think people think more Floyd ducked Cotto in 2007. I disagree but I understand why they say that. After the Hatton fight it should have been Cotto but Floyd rematched DLH and retired before the fight even happened. By the time he came back Cotto had already been damaged goods. That's the one fight I wish he would have taken. He takes that 0 from Cotto (he would have) and noone could ever say anything about him ducking or cherrypicking or weak comp ever.

That was 2008. Why didn't miguel force top rank to make the floyd fight in 05 after the gatti fight? Cotto essentially did what mosley did, duck then make alot of noise because haters will blame floyd.

haha this made me chuckle. when cotto was regarded as the most dangerous 147lbs fighter in the world floyd wanted no part of him, straight after the hatton fight was when cotto was at his peak, what happened? floyd retired. also turned down 8 million to fight margarito, again he retired
