Arum wasn't going to put his next "Star" against PBF at that point.
Real boxing history facts. Not *******/hater nonsense.

Correct me if I'm wrong, Cotto was ringside for that fight as well. Not to encouraging to see that performance and want to fight Mayweather.

The opponent, Henry Bruseles, was dominated and stopped in eight rounds.

It's the same with Margarito - nobody ever cared for him... and why - he was a champion nothing more and nothing less - Arum all the sudden wanted Floyd to fight him as he was leaving Arum but ain't want wanted to give him a garanteed fight with Hatton or DLH - so he left him - all the sudden ppl started talking like this fight was on the horizon for years *loooooooooooooooooooool*

When the fight was demanded by the fans and at its financial peak Floyd retired. For those who say Cotto never called him out you're partially right but when asked about Floyd Cotto responded that Floyd was a fighter who avoided the tough fights and that he was available to fight all the big names in boxing. When Floyd was asked about Cotto after Hatton when the fight was in high demand he said I want to retire from boxing I dont want boxing to retire me.
