Tyson got a beat down from Lennox Lewis, that's reality. Alot of cats are living in the 90's and 80's still outside of reality. That's fine if you believe that Tyson could beat Lennox in his prime, but the truth is that he got knocked out when they met.
What Round would Prime Tyson Woulda KOed Prime Lewis?

that Tyson IS NOWHERE NEAR what he was in ta 80's. Tyson WAS A BEAST!!!! AN ANIMAL OF ITS OWN FORM! I can see Lewis gettin smothered by prime Tyson hooks.Originally posted by FrankJackTyson got a beat down from Lennox Lewis, that's reality. And I'm not too familiar wit Lennox' history, BUT when did he hire Steward? I dunno, cuz I bet HE DONT USE huggin tactics PRE Stewart's coaching days. THUS it woulda been easier fo Tyson to knock his ass out!!!!!!!!!Comment

True Manny_P.Originally posted by Manny_PIf Rahman can land a right cross and KO Lewis, then TYSON will definitely crush Lennox wit vicious left hooks even a right uppacut.
We all know there's two versions of Lewis. This is partly the reason why so many fight fans despise the guy. He never showed the dedication that fight fans crave in a true Champ. Lewis is rightly called a "bum" sometimes because he would show-up completely disintersted in the fight in front of him. This is the version of Lewis that fought Rahman the first time.
However, then there's the "showtime" version of Lewis that allowed him to ultimately beat every man he faced. Rahman saw that version in the second fight. Lewis showed-up ready more often than not, so he was able to stay on top of the heap for a decade.
My guess is that the ready-to-go Lewis would show-up for Tyson. After five or six rounds of boring lunges by Tyson and a bunch of stiff effective jabs and clinches by Lewis, Tyson would figure out that he's not going to get inside or get close enough and would loose heart and be ready for Lewis' right hand.Comment

For the record, Lewis has always used the "third man in the ring" to his advantage. When the smaller guy (remember Lewis was usually the bigger guy) worked his way inside, Lewis would grab and look to the ref. Boring but effective as hell to keep the fight on the outside all night long.Comment

BUT keep in mind.... ta PRIME Tyson would have all ta energy TO NOT LET Lewis hug him like mad. Tyson would bully and scare Lewis. Ta only reason Lewis was able to do that was that Tyson is outa his prime. And I believe that if Lewis tried to get close and try to tie Tyson, it would be bad news cuz Tyson is an inside fighta.Originally posted by MoonFor the record, Lewis has always used the "third man in the ring" to his advantage. Prime Tyson was never an endurance freak.
