EXACTLY!!!!!!!! Prime Tyson was ta beast of all beats back then. Tis guy was jest a ****in animal. IT DINT MATTA WHO HE FOUGHT, he goona knock em out in less that 4 rounds. Lennox Lewis woulda been anotha pig gonna be sent to Tyson slaugtherhouse.
Just like Pacman is Top 5 P4P. In the words of Bozo, "your a delusional, wounded little girl".
it would go 9 rounds....tyson would eventually get lewis...how the hell did ruddock get killed by lewis in 2 rounds and stayed with tyson longer??
Ruddock was a proven contender before his fight with Tyson that could've been champ. After he fought Tyson not once but twice he was never the same fighter afterwards. Tyson took something outta him in both fights, especially the 2nd
Lewis was NOWHERE near Tyson Prime. Prime Tyson vs prime Ali has been a good topic IN ALL YEARS. It shows how much prime Tyson is respected. I have neva heard ta same praise fo Lewis. Lewis = Nothin compared to Tyson. DEAL WIT IT!
Manny, you are usually pretty mellow man, but you got my attention with this very energetic support for Tyson over Lewis.
Look at Tyson in the eighties, but look closely. Before he got the first title from Berbick, he really faced nobody. He was knocking out fringe-contenders and bums, really. But, I agree he deserved a title shot and as expected he beat the hell out of the old man Berbick.
I figure that version of Tyson might push Lewis the distance, but the decision would go to Lewis. When Tyson faced the big man Toney Tucker, he was expected to go right through him, but Tucker was simply not afraid of the smaller man. Tucker was more technically well rounded than Tyson, but more importantly, he had the size differential. Now just imagine Tucker with Lewis' jab followed up by a good accuaret right hand. This combination equals a long night for Tyson.
Lewis would have landed many good shots on Tyson, from long range. Remember, Tyson was a man that liked to have his way in the ring (i.e., bully) and really didn't have much heart for taking top-tier shots. We all know what happened in 1990 when he faced a man who really didn't give a **** that it was Tyson. He kept landing shots and Tyson just folded, 'cause he really couldn't take it.
Tucker and Buster Douglas combined are the proto-type for a Lewis win, despite the fact that Tyson UD'd Tucker. Lewis would have brought every advantage that Tucker had, plus improved technical skills. He would have hit Tyson with better shots than Buster and Tyson would have lost heart, again. So, I see the very big good man (Lewis) versus the very good little man (Tyson) as an easy pick .... Lewis.
Anyone could agure correctly that Lewis' suspect chin would have been the end of him against Tyson. Recall, Lewis' long range jab and his ability tie-up his opponent would have frustrated Tyson all night long. Maybe Tyson would have bit off Lewis' ear?
