how was they tougher? Because their defence ****** & they got beaten to a pulp most weekends?
David Haye could be Holyfield tough, it wouldn't of made a difference because Wlad is a superior athlete. If he had of commited more it wouldn't of increased his chances against Wlad, it would of most certainly resorted to him being KTFO!
These old guys maybe tough, they might of been very tough, but this is boxing & you need more than toughness to get to the top nevermind to dethrone the Klitschkos. In all fairness most of these 'great old timers' have at least a dozen losses or more by K.O against 160/170lb journeymen.
If a 170lb fairly heavy handed journeyman is doing that, what would happen if a near 250 6ft6+ ****er like the bro's hit them?Comment

Bolded sounds a lot like mma. Fighters of the past were not craftier, nor were they tougher or more athletic. They had to sacrifice quality for quantity and never fought at the speed and sharpness of fighters of today. They simply did not have enough time to prepare, because of how often they fought and the level they fought at.
And you completely miss my point about alcohol, fighters of the past fought profusely like there was no tomorrow, and for many of them there was not. Some of them even came in drunk to fights. Fighters of today are much more professional in their regime.Comment

Considering they've been fighting a steady stream of crap opponents for the past four and a half years my assesment if them is as valid today as it was then. Both are four years older not four years better.

Size alone doesn't mean punching power as Joe Louis,Rocky Marciano,Mike Tyson and others could tell you.how was they tougher? Because their defence ****** & they got beaten to a pulp most weekends?

And yes they fought alot more often than fighters of today, had alot more fighting spirit and were alot more willing to exchange and take punishment,so yes they were alot tougher for the most part!Comment

The fighters the Klitschkos beat would still beat the crap out of most of your old bum champions from way back when. Cris Arreola, Eddie Chambers and Tony Thompson could beat the crap out of many past heavyweight champs. That is the truth. So if they are "crap opponents," what does that make your old heroes? Worse than crap.Comment

A gratuitous (and false) assertion that logically maybe equally gratuitously denied. Sorry dude, but your generation is in no way, shape, or form superior to any other generation. I know it just busts your narcissistic bubble and ruins your fantasy of generational self-importance but dem's the breaks.
