LOL REMINDS ME OF MY BRO I, WELL MY SECOND OLDEST BRO, I WOULD ALWAYS GET IN HIS **** BECAUSE I WAS BUILT TO FIGHT. have been boxing or training rather for about 17 years. I still train and I am still in shape...

Did it more so to help me with my striking in MUAY THAI AND FELL IN LOVE WITH BOXING, ALWAYS LIKE BOXING AND WATCHED IT AS A YOUNG CHILD (SUGAR RAY LEONARD GLOVES, NEIGHBORHOOD BOXING MATCHES) ALL THE WAY TO CURRENT DAY.

BUT WHEN YOU PARTICIPATE AND SPAR, YOU LEARN A LOT MORE.

HAVEN'T HAD ANY PROFESSIONAL FIGHTS BUT I SPAR FREQUENTLY EVEN TODAY..

          true dat

but u should read my post adressing what the thai boxer said

          fist arent the only thing

but they are probably the best thing

          look at andersonsilva

guy has great muy thai and ju jiitsu but what separates him is his boxing skills

he can use foot work and headmovement and his boxing is what usually makes the differance in his fights

ie griffin, okami, leben and his defense is heavily reliant(dont know if that is a word ) on headmovement a boxing skill

all styles have benifits and plusses boxing is one of the most advanced and scinetific, brutal and powerful arts if u know how to

Well, they had him in 5 fights with some overweight deli market workers who he KOd quickly and this was a step up for him and it was against another decent prospect.

I have decent skills, good speed, not too much power at 147 though. But I can't get to 140 and below to save my life. I'm 5'7 and they've always wanted me at 140 and below where I'd have power to go with the speed, but I am naturally just a stocky guy and under 147 I look worse than DLH in the Pac fight

I boxed back when I was 14-17 (10-11 yrs ago) and gave about 7 amateur fights back in Puerto Rico. I had a bad accident (broke my forearm) in the ring (wet corners, bad shoes..LOL) in a Daniel Santos Tournament and had to be rushed to the hospital. needed screws, surgery...hand was never the same. I did train in the same gym with current pro fighters such as Kenny galarza & Carlos Negron but never sparred with them. My cousin who went to the gym everyday with me did end up fighting Jonathan oquendo as an amateur in regionals. I do have a cousin who is a pro too. His name is IVAN RODRIGUEZ (fights out of chicago). My family also tells me Luis Collazo is a very distant cousin but I wont believe it until I meet him. Thats all I got about boxing. NO BS! Thats all I got.

What makes boxing special is that youre limited to just your hands.

                  Boxing is a gentlemens sport.
                  Boxing is a science..
And idk bout you guys but the world I was raised in....Men fight with their hands.
I don't know what fkn world you live in but in my world when there is a street fight everything goes including head butts and elbow strikes or are you gonna tell me if someone wants to whoop ur ass on the street you gonna stay a gentlemen and limit yourself just to the use of your hands?

Nobody has answers for these questions? This is a boxing site, right?

What is the maximum weight difference in the pros allowed between two fighters fighting in the 147lb division on the day of the weigh-in?

What Featherweight holds the IBF record for most title defenses at that weight?

What great fighter used to call his right hand "The Hot Rod"?

How many corner men are allowed on the apron in between rounds in an amatuer bout?

In a furious exchange in the last few seconds of the round fighter A nails fighter B in the jaw as the bell rings. Fighter B falls to the canvas. What does a referee do at that point?

What length of gauze are you allowed to use on a hand in an amatuer bout.

How much tape may you use over the knucles for an amatuer bout? And for a pro bout?

These are just off the top of my head, come on you guys....Rockin'

I completely agree. Hey man I love fighting since I was a kid it didnt matter if it was boxing, MMA, wrestling, K1, WWF, Bruce Lee. I love it.

But boxing is different. The art of pugilism is without a doubt the most difficult to master. Not saying it beats any other styles but its the limitations in boxing that make it such a great sport.
