But his right eye was swollen pretty much shut, with a bad cut and his left eye was also damaged

I said both eyes were cut. But the reason he couldn't see was because of the blood running into his eyes, not the swelling. Well, at least his left eye wasn't swollen that bad to where he couldn't see.

It wasnt the blood, it was the swelling in his right eye which shut it and the cut and swelling in the left eye

how do you stop a cut on your eyelid when you have to blink, he'll get socked again and it'll reopen and get worse. i understand if it's on the eyebrow or below the eye, but it was directly on his eyelid. and it was a straight line cut, not swollen up and bleeding. i think it was a headbutt perhaps, berto must have had the best uppercuts last night to form a straight line cut like zaveck got. idk man, it's kind of strange of how the hbo crew didn't even dwell on that. oh well, berto's got the belt now, i say he gives zaveck a rematch, it was really turning out to be a great fight. that or a collazo bout

I still think the corner should've given him a little more time to see how he did. If Jan starts getting hammered during the 6th then stop the fight. It just seems like the stoppage just came out of nowhere. Normally, stoppages like that build up, not just out of nowhere.

yeah, try to rewatch the part where zaveck goes back to his corner, the cameras zoom in and gets a perfect shot of the cut. i tried to upload some pics of it, but they got taken down. i do agree with you though, they should've given him the 6th round, see how things go. i guess they were inexperienced cutmen or something, idk, but that cut would've gotten worse for sure. i really want to see a rematch, i think zaveck would've had a decent shot of winning, berto seemed to show some stamina issues towards the fifth round.
