Berto looked horrible.... His punch resistance was crap, and he was gassing out early....

Not impressed at all....

Can't say the punch resistance was crap, he didn't look like he got hurt in the fight, but toward the fifth round he did look like he was gassing out. Now I will say I thought Berto was winning the fight, he showed determination, and it was the right stoppage, but I am not letting Berto off the hook because the other was starting to land more and Berto might have been tiring.

Major props if he goes through with it because its a dangerous fight that he could lose based on what I saw but another W over Zaveck wouldn't elevate his career further in any way.

berto headbutted his way to a W here. for me this fight is undecided. zavec wasn't really hurt by berto shots, he looked pretty good and berto looked gassed. i think the stoppage was a godsend for him.

the plan was to wear berto down, not giving in to his fast combos. it worked perfectly. zavec looked pretty good until that swelling kicked in. remember he needed a ko so he had to gas berto out before attempting a full time assault.

Oh I'm not arguing that Jan didnt land more or that he couldn't have won the fight. My point is at the time of the stoppage he wasn't even in rounds won. Berto looked winded. who knows what happens. The body work he put in was working on Jan as well though and may have shown up late. Wish we would have got to see how it unfolds.
