Helenius vs Arreola, who takes it?

Quite a good fight, from a fan perspective, and one that I think needs to happen for us to get a better guage on the heavyweight scene. Helenius at this point has beaten the better opponents and is on a roll. Chris seems to have rededicated himself and has come into his last few fights in better condition. Both guys are tough and can ****. I'd give the power edge to Helenius and the toughness edge to Arreola, though that's still a bit of a question mark around Helenius.

Arreola is one of the more aggressive combination punchers in the division, and Helenius has traditionally started slowly. However, he possesses sneaky power and tends to come on very strongly later in the fight.

If Nips keeps the pressure on in the early going he might build a substantial points lead or even hurt Helenius, though given how badly his face puffs up I'd expect him to be very much the worse for wear if this goes beyond eight.

I'd personally go for Helenius, as I think his confidence is sky high at the moment whilst Arreola is in the rebuilding phase after suffering two losses to Adamek and Vitali.

No ones came close to knocking Arreola out. I'd go with Arreola by decision or mid/late stoppage. I think Arreola wins on points tho, atleast if the tentative Arreola doesn't show up. The one who fought Adamek was crap, he should have beaten Adamek in my opinion.

Probably can give props to Adamek for making Arreola tentative at times in the fight but I think something wasn't right with Arreola but whatever.

I see Arreola doing good work early, but taking too much punishment later in the fight and getting stopped.

Arreola needs to learn to use the outside better, thats probably what was wrong with him against Adamek. Adamek used the outside better.

If a fighter is tentative it's usually because of something the opponent is doing. Maybe Nips was feeling the sting of Adamek's punches and was unwilling to fully commit. This wouldn't be totally illogical since I'd imagine that Adamek's punches sting more than Vitali's even if they cause less damage over the long term. Nips also broke his hand late in the fight, which caused his performance to drop.

He was a real fatty vs Adamek.

Maybe better in shape Arreola can fight better on the outside.

Or at least get inside quicker.

Helenius is a pretty good inside fighter, but he's too passive in the early rounds. Arreola I'd say is a better mid-range fighter. He needs to wind up his punches to get power. Helenius's outside game needs a lot of work. His jab is too soft and uncommitted, though he's capable of throwing a good one at times.

Nips lost because he can't deal with moving targets. His ability to cut off the ring is poor becuase, although he constantly moves forward, he makes little attempt to trap fighters in advantageous positions; he simply follows them around. That won't be a problem against Helenius though, who tends to stand right in front of you.
