Freddie Roach is entitled to his opinion and I respect that, but his opinion does not necessarily make him right and anyone who disagrees with it wrong.Comment

Shavers also badly hurt Ali and Holmes, who were well known for having excellent chins, not to mention he beat Norton, Bugner and Young.
Having more weight does not=having a better chin. Unsurprisingly, the most difficult opponent to knock out that Vitali and Wladimir faced was Byrd, who was a blown up Heavyweight at best.
Also notice that the only three opponents that have gone the distance with Wladimir in the past 5 years are Ibragimov and Haye. surprise surprise, they are also some of the lightest opponents hes faced. Chambers also almost made it the distance before that cracking left hook.
Meanwhile, Wladimir has knocked out every opponent over 220lbs that he has faced.(in the past 5 years)
and do I really have to bring up the multiple heavy guys that have **** chins at HW? or cant punch for **** despite weighing heavier than most HWs?
point is: a guy that weighs 240lbs does not magically have a better chin than a guy that is 210lbs. hell, a lot of the time extra(fat) weight makes you easier to knock out. even on Wladimir's own record that shows up, so its not 'nostalgia'.Comment

So where is the cut off then? could a Fly weight boxer hit harder than a CW in your estimation?Shavers also badly hurt Ali and Holmes, who were well known for having excellent chins, not to mention he beat Norton, Bugner and Young.

Weight is is factor in power.
Also Wlad taking Haye and Sultan to a decision has very little to do with power and more to do with the style match ups.Comment
