What punch can generate the most power?

The straight? The hook? The uppercut? Not specific to the individual boxer, but what punching angle/motion can generate the most power?

I think a hybrid straight/hook can generate the most power. Like a 20 degree angle maybe. . . You can fully turn your body into, and add leverage from the "hooking" motion.

I would think a hook with a big windup? Putting your legs/knees/shoulder/body into it. Especially if you can turn your hips from one side to the other.

I dont know why fighters when they are fighting chest to chest dont try to jump to the right or left side and just try a huge punch right across the chin, since you will have all your power behind it and it will come from a weird angle.

a hook from your power hand....

but short acurate crisp punches can catch a guy so he doesnt see it and those ones are the worst.

right hands can generate the most raw power

hooks cause the most KOs though because it's hard to see, roll, and brace for if thrown properly

That depends on how you train. Lots of varieties. I'm sure Oscar's left hook is harder than his right. Same to Trinidad.

              sorry
but it is specific for each fighter or else everyones hook, cross etc would be their most powerful punch.
Frazier's left hook was probably slightly more powerful than his cross
Alexis's straight right was better than his considerable hook
              different strokes for different blokes

Hooks. The way you hold your elbow when you throw a hook adds extra power when it hits its target.

                  Oscar was left handed.
