Has Larry Merchant Ever Been Happier Than When Jones Was KO'd For 1st Time?

Who remembers Larry Merchant yelling "It's over!" in joy when referee Jay Nady stopped the fight during Jones vs Tarver II?

Larry then went on to happily say "Roy might be done with boxing".

When has the mild toned/mannered Larry ever rejoiced in a knockout like he did during this fight?

        "Got any excuses tonight Roy?"

Never has trash talk been so utterly, and immediately backed up.

I was equally jubilant to see him finally get his what was coming to him after years of being overrated and screwing the boxing public with crap fights while ducking true champions.

It was good revenge for the audience to see him surfboarded and subsequently humbled.

I remember that well. Merchant was definitely in celebration mode.

I thought commentating was suppose to be unbiased....

Since when do commentators jump for joy when a fighter gets KO'd?

he generally cheers for non-black fighters.

if both are black he cheers for the one most cordial.

larry was absolutely elated when pavlik ko'd taylor:

                  but then again..so was i

He argues tooth and nail with Stewart on why Kelly's losing, then turns around and makes excuses for him.

                    4:15 - 5:15

Instead of giving Hopkins props for his masterful masterpiece, Merchant blaims Arum for making the fight with Hopkins. He then goes on to basically say Kelly should've fought someone who posesses less threat.

This is what I'm talking about when it comes to Merchant.
