I co-sign thisyes^^^^
I never said it was dying i just want it to get better...
more weakly fights and network telivision deals etc.
they should learn about buisness form the ufc....
its picked up in the past couple years and there is some real good yiung talllent so the futre looks bright noetheless....
but i want more
I got the feeling that Todd DuBoef having sole control of Top Rank would be the best case scenario for the sport. He was the one spearheading the return to network TV idea and he has a great vision for the future. Problem is, there's never enough money in Big Bob's bank account. He'd rather take HBO's big money offer than continue cultivating a relationship with CBS and taking shorter money, which is what has hurt Boxing in the last few decades.Comment

If that's true, then Boxing would be lucky to be 'declining' the way the UFC is. They just secured a 7-year deal with a network (2 really) each with over 100 million subscribers/viewers. Want to talk about decline? Compare Boxing now to what it was in the 70s, 80s, and even early 90s...Comment

I noticed the exact same thing in about 2007 when 2 of my friends were huge ufc fans and when Lou dibella and joe rogan argued on espn they kept just saying Boxing is dead and Chuck liddell is the best fighter ever. Neither of them watch ufc anymore and I turned one of them into a casual boxing fan (Thanks to fighters like Brandon Rios and Sergio Martinez.)Comment

What a joke the whole CBS and Top Rank partnership turned out to be. One prime time special that nobody watched and some added commercials. Not even one fight card. A bunch of empty hype, like always. The HBO deal is even more laughable. Why are TNT cards not possible? Why put the new HBO series with the up and coming fighters on HBO in the middle of the week when nobody will watch instead of TNT/TBS etc. What a joke.
Best thing for boxing right now is if HBO and Showtime pull the plug. It would be a chaotic few years but the fighters would be forced to fight for reasonable purses and the promoters will have to actually promote.Comment

TBH the only reason they watched/pretended to like it I think is because it was cool/popular at the time. My one buddy is not that much of a boxing fan but he just likes the mega fights ex. Mayweather/Ortiz and Pacquiao/Marquez III.yea after watching a bunch of ufc they get bored then they watch some greatboxing andthey realise(with the exception of juijitsu) that those guys are just sloppy brawlers when they are fighting on there feat....
