    Boxing... its ur move now!

i seriously hope that the gbp and Toprank guys make a move....

its not one sport is better....

the reason mma is so big is cause of the ufc and the way they market their sport they are geniuses....

they boxing promoters should learn form them....

and i really hope that they do.

The way I look at it it’s two different sports with two different audiences, why should we have to compete with one another for ratings when the respected markets are different? Should we include kicking and eye gouging in boxing to help improve ratings?

My point being if you don’t like boxing and consider it bland than don’t watch it, it probably wasn’t for you anyway. If MMA is more your style than great, but don’t compare the two as one should compete with the other when they are so blatantly different.

To add, not to diss MMA but truthfully they have been only popular in recent years where boxing has been transcending generations since the formation of the Olympics.

I think of it as boxing losing it's monopoly on combat sports as entertainment. This could be a good thing in some ways, as the competition should force some positive changes in the way boxing is run and presented to the public.

They're just trying to make a name fro themselves using Boxing's reputation. In the end Boxing will have their fanbase and MMA will have theirs. Just like Rugby and Football. No need to compare which one is better.

                ur right....

                but my point is...

to draw in the casual fans u have to market ur product well...

zuffa has done such a great job...

with the casual fans it doesnt matter what ur selling its how u present it...

and boxing has failed with that...

no matter what there will always be diehard fans of both....

but to bring in BIG money and exposure i thinku have to have a better buisness plan....

i dont know if ODLH and arum are good enough....

maybe if they work together or some new ambitous guys come allong they could make some really god fights and make the sport thrive and grow....

when its more poulare u have more kids in the boxing gyms and that means more good young prospects for the future of boxing...

i do think things have picked up in the last few years for boxing cause the poulairity of mma has grown...

i am an mma fan but i want more boxing...

i want it to be like it used to be...

and there is room for both.

                  i think so too....

and i hate when people bash on or the other....

i would really like to have good boxing on network tv on a regular basis...

and with the right promoters it is possible...

its not about the product itself its about the way it is presented that brings in the casual fans....

these zuffa guys say mma is the new thing and boxing is dead and the casual fans will believe them...

so boxing peopel sould say boxing is back...

and work to make it even bigger...

there are some youngtalent and good matchups coming in the futre so i think that will help.
