Because he just beat the WBC WW champion and is ranked higher than any WW that Manny pacquiao has ever fought @WW...

      1. Floyd hasn't even gone for a year and half let alone nearly 2 years.

      2. Ortiz being #2 WW has more to do with the state of the WW division than Ortiz accomplishments at the division.

Cotto was #2 with a belt at WW when Pac fought him. And, a better overall fighter than Ortiz is yet the same people trying to hype up Ortiz don't like to give Pac full credit for Cotto.

      Which is ridiculous but whatever.

      3. What exactly makes Ortiz hungry? Was he not hungry when he fought Maidana? Was he not hungry when he fought Campbell? Was he not hungry when he fought Peterson? What makes him hungry now?

The Berto win? Is that it? Becasue, he beat an average over hyped fighter for a belt? That said fight won from beating a Mexican cop who got fired for taking the fight?

Floyd-Ortiz is a legit fight. No question about it. Is the most meaningful and best fight that can be made that doesn't involve Manny Pacquiao at WW.

But, both Floyd and Pac are on another level than the rest of the WW division. Both Floyd and Pac against anyone else at WW is a mismatch.

I actually think Bradley could give Pac some fits here and there.

Ortiz wouldn't be able to fuck with Manny. Even if Pac had a long layoff of a year and a half he would still ruin Ortiz.

And, Ortiz is nothing like Hatton. Except maybe that both got overhyped by some.
Point #2 makes sense. But I don't think Manny is favored after a more than 1 year layoff agaisnt Vic.

its call trash talking dumbasses. Their belittling ortiz to get in his head. Ortiz is way bigger and stronger than hatton. see how hatton did in the early round imagine that but more considering ortiz size.still pick floyd to win, but use your ****ing brains. smh

For the life of me I can't I understand why you won't think that. But, it's cool.

Perhaps you forgot about the completely ludicrous catch weight? name me another time when this scenario has occurred. Please name me another time when a fighter has already fought and won at a certain weight De La Hoya at 147) and then made the champion of that weight class come down to a catch weight (Cotto at 145). Let me know when the last time that happened was and who the fighters involved were.

You don't think Manny's style and volume punching is affected by a long layoff? Also, Manny gets hit a lot. That time off could affect the subtle things in his defense.

I think the catchweight is important to note and had an affect on the outcome. I know Jrosales13 doesn't. I know Cotto said it was not a factor but I can't see how losing 2 lbs of muscle off a body that was lean already couldn't affect performance.

Not to mention making the CHAMPION of the division come down in weight. How often has that happened for a TITLE fight?

                    But, it wasn't 2 pounds.

                      Oscar-Sturm and Hopkins?

I probably can name more if I wasn't late for work as well. But, that's irrelevant to what I was saying.

Because, that version of Cotto was better than this version of Ortiz IMO.
