You know what,from round 2 I had a feeling something was abt to go down.those golden boys pay off good money to those refs.i don't know abt some posters on here but the shotime commentaters made me real fans of them.had it been hbo they wouldn't allow it on the air,probably would sweep it under the rug and sugar coat things.

Also he was the ref for Katsidis-Guerrero and he missed a clear KD for Katsidis. In the 2nd round Katsidis caught Guerrero with a clean left hook. He stumbled back and his glove touched the canvas. Mora did nothing.

I don't think Mora is corrupt. He's just a horrible official.

He seems a bit racist to me..

Wow! Are you guys serious?? Mares won at least 8 or 9 rounds plus one clean knockdown! Quit crying! Shots ON the belt are clean.

I agree! Look at the video, and you'll see that most of the shots were on the belt line, as a result of Agbeko pushing down on Mares neck. The 11th rnd KD was a mistake, but most of the other shots were legal, or caused by Agbeko. Look at the video W/O sound. You'll see.

yeah the ref missed that call in the 11th rd, but he was correct in not being the deciding factor in the fight by taking needless points away from legal belt line blows. Most of mares shots were on the belt line and that is perfectly legal. 2nd agbeko was constantly pulling mares head down at the same time mares was coming in with body shots. This is what caused a lot of the so-called low blows and the ref was correct in explaining to agbeko the reason he was not taking points away and the reason why some punches were low. Even al bernstein who was so upset about one low blow that he decided to show the replay to display how right he was in his anger, but guess waht the so-called low blow was not low it was on the belt line and bernstein quickly backed away from his outburst.

I for one am glad that a ref did not decide the fight for us. He made the correct calls regarding what some thought were low blows, but were on the belt or caused by agbeko pulling mares head down. Even the few puches, minus the one in the 11th, were not serious or deliberate they were just barely below the belt line.

-------------be fair, don't be an azz....WE ARE TALIKING ABOUT THE SHOTS THAT WERE BELOW THE BLETLINE.....we along with all three announcers who were right at ringside, saw multiple LOWBLOWS thrown by Mares....its fine to be happy that Mares won, but lets' be fair about the fouls that Agbeko suffered......I'd like to punch you in the nuts 15 times and see if it would affect you.....as Tarver said, low blows zap everything from you....i give Agbeko alot of respect for trying to fight mares and the ref.....and this makes the 2nd straight fight that Mares was allowed to getaway from fouls and subsequently win the fight, so there's a history with this guy.....

Okay half of the ones that WERE low wouldn't have been if Agbeko wouldn't have been pulling Mares' head down. Also what about all the warnings he got about the back of the head and multiple headbutts? And the 11th round he was NOT hit in the nuts, he wouldn't have gotten up that fast if he was.

The Ref (Mora) should be permanently banned from boxing

The officiating in the Agbeko v. Mares title fight was the worst I've seen. A very good fight was reduced to a bad joke by an incredibly incompetent boxing referee who demonstrated the keen eyesight of a pro-wrestling referee.
An immediate rematch should be mandated by the IBF and the referee Vic Mora should be permanently banned from officiating anything other than rubber ducky races.

mares is a beast. he just made a name for himself as the most feared fighter in his division. now even donaire will ducked him. lol.......
