Even if it had just been one low blow--the one in the eleventh--called mares wouldn't have won. Agbeko was winning the round--by calling it a knockdown, he lost two points. Mares should have lost a point for the blatant foul and lost the round" another two point swing. Now it is a majority draw.

unbelievable, I'm glad Jim Grey put the ref in his place with that interview. I had it a three point fight for Mares by fight's end scoring the 11th a 9-9, if a point was deducted instead of being ruled a knockdown that's a two point swing and a one point fight. And if the first round knockdown had been justly ruled a slip, we would be looking at a draw.Comment

Ive been watching fights for over 40 yrs and this is either the most incompetent pin head ever to referee a fight. Or,somebody got to the ref.. dozens of low blows are enuff to take the starch out of any fighter.. its a wonder agbeko could even finish..Comment

Ok a rooted 4 Mares but i agree he should have taken at least 1 or 2 points, and that 11th rd knock down was not fair for Agbeko.
But in punchcast Mares won fair and square.
To the one saying it was REF from WBC and for that reason helped Mares, has to learn that the title was 4 IBF. Not WBC at all.
Anyway, in spite of the clear punchcast win, a rematch is needed urgently to clean up this shadow of doubt.Comment
