IMHO, Mares did not win that fight. And also imho, boxing fans should not allow themselves to say such things as that he did.

Agbeko was not pulling mares down so as to cause low blows. Some fighters do that. Agbeko did not. That's like saying 40 percent og sam peter's rabbit punches were caused by a fighter ducking. Bs. Mares was throwing those blows intentionally because he could--the referee did nothing. And agbeko,s trunks were not high. Really, i don't know what fight you were watching. I don't care for either fighter and i thought darchinian's complaints were our g****s. Agbeko is a completely different story.

Are you blind Agbeko was constanlty pulling Mares head down since rd 1. To compare with Peter is not even in the same category. I said a little bit high, high enough to make a difference.

how do yiou explain Bersteins contsant complaints and when he was so sure he had an obvious, deliberate low blow he decided to show the replay. And please tell me what did the replay show?????? Why did Al have to back track once the replay actually showed what really transpired.

People are getting punches landed on the trunks mixed up with illegal low blows. That's my opinion. Someone sees a punch land on the trunks and they immediately call it a low punch.

I call the showtime crew morons because they are consistent on making themselves out to be morons, not just because their reaction in this fight. Especially Gray which he seems to believe his job is to create news and not just report on the news. Frankly. I am not a fan of either Mares or Agbeko, I actually thought Vic Dar. pulled out a razor this win against Mares. Just go back and look at those punches more closely and you will see yes they landed on the trunks but a punch landing on the trunks is not a low blow which most seem to think. Yes it may give the impression of a low blow when the trunks are hit, but that all depends on how high they are being worn and Agbeko did have them a little high. So just go back and look closely in slo mo or whatever and you have and you will see just like when Showtime tried to convince us of a bad low blow but on replay it showed the opposite, a legal blow on the belt line.

Even the commentators were saying it was controversial. I am just going by what they said. I just caught the tail end of it and to me it looked like agbeko threw a wild punch got off balance and fell. That is what i saw.

I think the only one who questioned it was Al Bernstein and quite frankly he's wrong.

Agbeko threw a wild left hook and lost balance when he missed. He was caught with a counter left hook by Mares and hit the canvas. The punch didn't land clean, but he still got hit by punch and then fell on the canvas. By rule that's a knockdown.

The eleventh round Knock down was caused by a low blow and should not been counted as a knock down.. A lot of the other so called low blows were border line and some were caused by Agbeko pullin Mares head down.. One other thing i noticed was a lot of rabbit punching behind Mares head by Agbeko..I still think ares deserved to win because he outlanded Agbeko.. A rematch would clear everything up but IMO Mares would still beat Agbeko..

Mares is garbage. Golden girl has turned this tournament into a disgrace. I still had agbeko winning 116-112, even with the golden girl ref's awful calls
