Floyd may have taken risks by not staying active for almost 2 years. Many folks think that may have been the case and the reason Mosley was able to rock Floyd pretty good. But I think Mosley was able to time Floyd's punch and got there before Floyd did, and not due to Floyd's inactivity. We saw how Floyd recovered and pitched a shutout after that.

Ortiz is young, hungry, and believes in himself. He believes he has a good chance to beat Floyd and keep the title he's longed for for so long. If Ortiz can pull off a round similar to Mosley's and is able to follow it up and put Floyd in trouble and keep him there, then we could see the tables turning in favor of Ortiz.

Props to Ortiz for calling out Floyd and wanting to test himself.

in all honesty...i'm just happy that people are recognizing ortiz right now as being a viable opponent...it will really be sad when people discredit him if he loses tho...i believe floyd breaks this kid apart and makes him realize all the kinks in his armor...i've bet several people straight up for this fight...right now if floyd loses, i'm paying out $300...but i'm so confident in floyd's abilities...ring rust is not a factor at all in my eyes and the breaks off if anything will help and not floyd in the long run...i believe it will be a great fight...floyd by wide UD tho...maybe score a knockdown...but i don't see floyd getting ko'ed or ortiz winning in any fashion...

I say if there has been any fighter that can beat Mayweather, that is Ortiz.
Floyd is a master at taming big-hearted brawlers (the likes of Gatti, Corrales, Baldomir, De La Hoya etc.), but he can also handle pressure fighters (Judah, Mosley). Being a counterpuncher, he could be in trouble with aggressive fighters (we've seen it against Castillo for example), the ones that keep coming and coming relentlessly: that's what Ortiz has to do if he wanna win.

As we said Ortiz is young, hungry, willing, and fit. He's used to be the underdog and csan also exploit Floyd's overconfidence. I think he's got more than a chance here.

The fact that Floyd has taken the fight make me think he's got Ortiz all figured out all ready. Like you say, it will be rough going for the 1st few rounds then just that tiny slowing in pace from Ortiz will give Floyd all the openings and time to just pick him off.

I'd love to see Ortiz smash him and I think he will be a tougher test for Floyd than say Mosley was but I just can't see Ortiz being able to handle throwing punches, not landing while eating punches he doesn't see coming.

                  Decent fight.

Floyd will win by wide UD, unless Berto quits again.

I think Mayweather wins a wide decision,Ortiz will be dangerous early but like most of Floyds opponents he will find it hard too get anything going after 4 or 5 rounds once mayweather finds his groove,Floyds huge advantage in experience shouldnt be overlooked either

Its going to be shaky the 1st couple of rounds then I see Floyd taking over.
