    Mayweather Vs Ortiz.... Your Views.

The upcoming bout between Mayweather and Ortiz is a fascinating encounter.
Im a Mayweather fan but have my doubts in this fight. Ortiz against berto looked hungry, determined and had good power and speed. Does anyone have any fight predictions...........?

Not saying that Ortiz wins, but in terms of betting, if there was ever a time to bet on the other guy, who happens to be a underdog in the odds, now is it.

34 is different from 30 or even 32, or could be. You're only a certain age once in your life and know how you will perform from one calendar year to the other. You even get worse at playing chess if not doing it regularly, and don't see the simplest openings or moves that you would usually on the board.

On top of that, you're facing a younger & more active fighter. Maybe 7 years from now, two Trolls on Boxingscene will be going back and forth on how Ortiz clearly beat a past-prime Floyd and that his win over a prime Mike Jones is the best on his Boxrec stats.

I think Ortiz is not as seasoned as Mayweather, but Mayweather is not as tuned up as Ortiz is at the moment when it comes to physical gifts. I like both fighters. Mayweather was my favorite P4P fighter for years. If he loses then I'm very happy that he lost to my favorite up and coming young fighter in Ortiz. I love boxing so much that I don't care if Floyd's L would ruin a Pacquiao fight, because Ortiz will carry out the sport for years to come with his skill, power, background story, charisma, and his hunger.

I think it depends on if Floyd is still the same fighter. He looked a little slower against Mosley and that was over a year ago. He was sitting down on his punches more though. At this point in his career, he maybe hitting a little harder. If his punches are still sharp and defense still tight, he will break Ortiz down. If he opens up, (which normally he never does) he could get the KO. But if Floyd has slipped at all, Ortiz will be very dangerous. Ortiz's pressure and power could give him major problems.I think Floyd pulls it out in a very close gutcheck type of fight. This will be a fight where Floyd will have to dig deep. (like Roy Jones did in his 1st fight with Tarver) Floyd will show a side of him that most fans have never seen before.Ortiz will make him take it to a level that seldom few fighters go.Floyd will never be the same after this fight. He should fight Manny then get out!

I'll be rooting for Ortiz, but Mayweather is most likely going to destroy Ortiz.

It's not even going to be close, Floyd is going to school him, put on a boxing clinic.

I think this is Floyd's fight to lose. He has every advantage but youth and maybe power at 147. We've seen Ortiz struggle against Boxers (Lamont Peterson) and quit against a pressure fighter (Maidana). Does that equate into what we'll see against Mayweather? Not necessarily, but you have to consider Floyd's overall experience and ability to adapt, and I just don't see anything Ortiz has that Floyd hasn't had to deal with.

Now, is it out of the question that Floyd could just be a fraction off his reflexes and speed? Of course, hes 34 and hasn't been very active in the last several years. I expect Floyd to pull off a UD, but if he does show signs of some slipping, it could make for an interesting night. Fighting someone who has everything to gain and nothing to lose can be very dangerous down the stretch.

I think Floyd stops him late, but he'll either get put on ***** street or dropped early.

This really is a good fight. But it would be even better a few years down the line. Of course Floyd won't be around by then though.

I agree with the thought that Floyd is going to get tagged at some point, and how he handles that will give away the outcome. If Floyd does get tagged it will be early while he is doing his usual feeling out. Then one of two things happens. Either Floyd gets hurt badly and his 34 year old legs fail him, or he regroups, adapts (which he does better then anyone I have ever seen), and just schools Ortiz for the rest of the rounds. Floyd is the better boxer by light years, but Ortiz has dropped everyone and is hungry as hell. So this fight goes one of two ways, either Ortiz by KO within lets say 1-3 rounds, or Floyd by wide UD. I cant see Ortiz quitting due to the magnitude of this fight, and I dont know that Floyd will throw enough to stop him. My pick: Mayweather by UD after some obvious rust early on.
